that link is correct, and I think it is, LSU controls their own destiny.

Yeah that's what i get too. This is assuming the underlying math in the calculator does everything correctly and runs through the tie breaker scenarios correctly. Here's how the SEC tiebreakers work

quote:

Head-to-head competition among the tied teams

Record versus all common Conference opponents among the tied teams

Record against highest (best) placed common Conference opponent in the Conference standings, and proceeding through the Conference standings among the tied teams

Cumulative Conference winning percentage of all Conference opponents among the tied teams

So this calculator is showing tie breakers based on Conference opponents win percentage but that's the 4th point in order for breaking ties. Idk if its going through the first 3 or not

My brother. Please read the article you are linking. It says that LSU & Georgia go if they and Texas are tied at 7-1.

LSU makes the SECCG if they win out barring wild upsets that would hurt LSU's opponent win % like Miss St over Ole Miss and Auburn over Alabama. LSU is virtually a lock to make the SECCG if they win out. Cheer for teams LSU played when they play teams LSU didn't play.

I ran several scenarios and the best thing is it would take a 2007 final day finish for ole piss to make it. So many teams would have to lose the next 4 weeks and I only found 2 ways they would make it

Better to go 10-2, miss the SEC Championship potential loss and glide right into the playoffs.

I believe LSU and Texas.

but i’m not sure how it works if a UGA, Texas, LSU finish 7-1.

Because UGA has a head to head with Texas

LSU would have a better common opponent record than UGA

Texas Would have a better common opponent record than LSU (They would need to beat A&M and their one loss wouldn’t be a common opponent)

so idk

the rules the SEC published don’t make any sense in a three way tie.

Georgia will not finish 7-1. They will lose to Ole Miss this week and could lost to Tennessee the following week.
