I agree, he will have his first career game against Alabama.

You're setting your self up for disappointment. He does not have to have a career game....just no turnovers for us to win. But against this defense I will be happy with staying healthy!

Not me. Hope so but not what any reasonably analytic person would predict. However, that's why they play the game.

Real question: we win and fournette runs for 175+... Does he enter the heisman conversation?

I believe Bama will favor stopping our run game very heavily, if we run tons of play action passes i feel etling will find plenty of open spaces down field to fit the ball

Play action only really works if the safeties bite. They know that's our MO, so I'm not sure how much it helps us if we can't really establish a running game.

If you re-watch last year's Alabama game (I don't know why you would), you'll notice that Alabama hardly stacked the line. They pretty much dominated our offensive line with just the defensive line and a couple of linebackers.

It was quite embarrassing for the offensive line.
Yep, LBs crashed and crashed gaps (sometimes from backside after OL pulled) all it took was LF7 to go sideways 1/2 step and they were on him, even from backside.

Why did they feel safe crashing LBs so often? No short passing game, definitely no passing game in middle of field, and why fear TEs and RBs catching the ball in middle of field against us (under Miles)?

Hell, their safeties were doing outside run containment. No fear.

He will be rattled early. Bama's Dline is like nothing he's faced ever. If he can weather the storm and not turn the ball over, we have a chance. What bothers me is his deep ball. Their dbs have to respect the deep ball for us to have any chance. I'm not sure, he can complete those short passes this game.

Don't care about a "career game", I just want him to manage the game, don't throw an interception (or fumble the ball) with 50+ something seconds left in the game.

I want him to do his reads fast, then dump that sucka fast to the first TE (or WR) open. Pepper that passing game with a beauty (or two or three) to Fournette (or Guice) coming out the backfield. Keep that vaunted Bama guessing. Hey Tigahs they put their jockstrap same as you do.....one at a time.

I figure against Bama, you had better mix things up. Spread them out, then BAM!! Fournette right up their gut! I want to be able to play that run ova and ova and ova again next week. Man I'm seeing that run right now in my imagination. It's beautiful man.

Das all I got to say!

He has to have a great game plan and the players must execute it. It really seems that trying to exploit favorable match ups was beyond anything the Miles understood. For him it was line up and blow them off the ball. That does not always work. Further, I wonder what effect excessive practice times had on his teams as the year wore on.

I doubt it. There's a man that wears No. 7 that I want to see have a career game.

You might want to see it but this ain't the team that it going to happen on. Saban isn't dumb. You should know this by now. Bama will do anything and everything to make Etling beat them

So let me make sure I get this straight...we have a balanced offense and a qb that can accurately complete passes...and bama is weak in the secondary and have been exploited in the passing game by Ole miss and arky...but we have no shot of having a good passing performance. Lol. Some of you are really stupid. Bama is good but not nearly as good as some past teams

bama has played some pretty terrible offensive lines. in the SEC, Tennessee and Arkansas are 2nd and 3rd to last in sacks allowed. texas am starts two true freshman and a sophomore in the center of their line. the freshman guard and freshman center were both 3 stars outside the top 1000. our line SHOULD be the best theyve faced. keep in mind that only 2 starters from last years bama defense are back. 6 of the front 7 are gone. so forget last year. Fournette and Guice should have lanes, and Etling should have time. ole miss threw for 421. Ark threw for 400. its entirely possible we've already faced the best defense we'll see all year in Wisconsin.

frickin' A, man.

Bama's D-Line and LBs are good. Secondary just average. If he can get the ball out quickly to his playmakers, the offense will score enough to win. He has to do good on his pre-snap reads and be accurate.

If Danny can throw for175-200 and protect the ball. We will score at least 30. That will be enough to win.
In the last nine games against them, the most we've scored is 24. I don't see us scoring more than 20.

I think he might have a long night if the offensive line can't block.

Nah it's going to take a mix of different types of pass plays, runs outside, inside, quick passes to the middle, flats, TEs, WRs, naked boots, screens, draws, pitches, fake pitches, and finally some and I mean some PA every so often. Here's where I think the advantage comes in, coach O knowing their offensive tendencies and the legend Jenkins knowing defensive tendencies!!! That's where it's at. Every time Jenkins is mentioned in the game plan to beat bama coach Ed O has a smirk on his face. Game planning will have a huge roll in our win Saturday along with our playing together and intensity! We may be able to match wits this time around, Ed O, Jenkins, Aranda and Esminger! Go get em Tigers!!
