The dude is a legend right now! Just want to know y’all’s thoughts and opinions. E or Brady? My uncle was a former coach for Coach E at central, he said E knows his X’s and O’s. I do question his play calling sometimes but he did beat Georgia last year. And heck he managed to beat bama this year with some help. I think E is a heck of an OC and QB coach. Just needed some new ideas

58% passer with E’s plays

78% passer with Brady’s plays

You do the math

Ehh that’s debatable, you are not really sure who calls the plays as of right now.

I didn’t allude to anyone calling plays

I said these are Brady’s plays, that’s not debatable

His dad

When CUM signed him and brought him into his program, you know he had what it takes

How can we say which one person developed him? He’s been playing all his life and learning from various coaches. I’m sure he got great coaching at Ohio state. I’m sure he got good coaching last year. I’m quite sure he’s getting great coaching this year. He’s also older and more experienced so of course his production is better. and this scheme is so much better that it allows him to shine.

This is the correct answer.

And he played in a system like Brady’s in HS.

Work ethic like his family. I'm confident his dad gave him a lot of instructions like Archie Manning did for his sons.
Then Joe had the drive to work many hours in the off season to develop teamwork with his receivers. You can't be a great QB without a good receiving group.

I think we have to give E some credit. Burrow has effused praise for E as being a significant piece of this puzzle.

Don't you think Burrow would know better than any poster on TD?

I was curious of this same thing. Burrow is a rare talent indeed who has benefited from a great scheme this year. but I am thinking he didn’t make THAT much of a physical/mental leap as a passer/runner/leader only in the span of the past 18 months. this has been a long time coming. he needed reps, and a good scheme.

i’m sure i’ll get flamed but isn’t urban meyer know for his QB development? and whoever OSU has now as coach...that guy was the OC, no?

i am really hoping that brady and E have the skills to groom a kid from straight out of high school. i’d like to think they do, but it does seem like somewhat of a different skill set.

His first 3 years OSU didn’t hurt his development at all...let’s not kid ourselves. Shows up here in June...learns a system/style that’s totally foreign to him...struggles early, but gets better as the season goes(especially his last 4 games). Fast forward to this year and all the work he and the wr’s put in together since the spring and summer. Perfect storm of Burrow and his supporting offensive cast, plus Ensminger and Brady working together. This offense doesn’t look like this with McMillan, Narcisse or Brennan at the helm this year.

JFB is a special talent....best recruit in the past 30-40 years, if not more. JMO

Last year's offense was crap. This year, he was put in an offense he knew how to run. For that, the staff deserves credit.

The developing had already been done by Ohio St coaches.

Developing a qb who can read defenses and understands a playbook isn’t the same as calling or installing the plays.

I believe both E and Brady deserve credit. Burrow improves steadily throughout the year last year and was much better at the end of the season than at the beginning. Coach Brady wasn’t on staff last year. It’s obvious that Brady has brought in a new system, but E has been working with Burrow for two years now and is still working with Joe within that new system.

His dad, brothers, and college coaches he had access to from the age of 5 or 6 through high school.

I think the workouts with Ohio State DBs and WRs helped him a great deal, but doubt any OSU QB coaches were much of an influence.

The biggest contribution of the LSU staff was to put Burrow back in the Spread offense that he grew up playing in.

Believe he was recruited by Tom Herman when he was the OC for Ohio State and was probably coached up by him and Urban Meyer, but I'm sure that's not what anyone wants to hear. I'll believe that LSU can develop a QB once I see one come through who hasn't been coached elsewhere previously.

The Burrow's give a lot of credit to Herman for finding and recruiting him. But Herman was gone to Houston before Burrow arrived at Ohio St.

Look at the player now compared to last year

E was actually holding him back, not developing him. He doesn’t deserve any credit

It’s Brady & yes I would give credit to his OSU coaches.

Look, this is Joe Burrows 5th year in college. Outside of getting game experience, last year did very little for his development. Between the play calling, the OL injuries, and the WR substitutions, none of that helped his development.
