I feel like there is plenty of talent there, but what I think has really been the mark of good WRs at LSU is chemistry with the QBs. Malik and all the WRs went to CA with Jalen this off-season, right? So here's hoping this crew spends this off-season gelling with Nuss like past WR groups did with Jalen, and Burrow and Mettenburger, and we should be fine. But I agree, I think we may move towards Coach Kelly and Denbrock's TE heavy scheme..

True, but so did Bowe and LaFell early in their careers.

Shelton Sampson

I think Sampson puts on about 15 pounds with a full offseason in college and becomes WR1. What I’m curious to see is who becomes WR2. Brown is going to be dangerous I think. Hilton will has the experience in the group so I’d expect him to be an impact player also.

If you were his father would you advise him to return? (Same for Thomas.)

2020 COVID Waiver
2021 FR
2022 SOPH
2023 JR
2024 SR

Im a Lacy guy. I think he can be a WR1 or at least a high level complimentary WR2.

Nabers had 28 catches as a freshman and showed enough for people to be comfortable with him being #1 as a sophomore.

Check my posts, I said he was better than boutte the summer before his sophomore year when everyone thought boutte was the next chase

It’s not hard to see when a guy can be that guy.

Has Sampson had a catch so far or just drops? I expect BK to play the guys with seniority as he always does over talent. Then after we lose a couple games he will be forced to try younger guys who then look great and we all wonder why they weren't in there from day 1.

I think Lacy can figure it all out. One more real good year of fine tuning. Kid definitely has the talent. However, ithink he'll be the #2. Sampson becomes the #1 IMO. Hilton and Brown share the deep ball role, and Anderson is put in the slot and finally used right. Crazy thing is I think Parker could show up many of these guys too.

While I know people think LSU should go in the portal, i actually hope they don't. I like what we have here. We have a lot of extremely talented kids here, and I expect us to be throwing it 35+ times a game next year.

How does Lacy get another year of eligibility? I am not down with all the rules but it appears he has played 4 full seasons.

haven't seen enough Hilton on the field to assess WR1 capability but at this pt I def don't think it's Lacy--altho you can see big jumps in 1 season when WRs dedicate a lot more time to the craft.

i hope all the WRs and TEs repeat the "Summer of 10000 Catches" that helped Chase/Jefferson/Marshall Jr be so dominant LINK

(in the link DJ Mangas explains LSU's 2018 team had 1 drop per every 8 passes but the 2019 WRs had 1 drop per every 20.)

All the drops this year were brutal. And Hankton's getting $900k / year? All these overpaid coaches.
