Shoop from Miss State
I would take a look at Grinch from
OU. We smoked them but they just don’t have anywhere near the talent needed to keep up
With our offense.
See if we can snag Leonhard from his Alma Mater

Where's Aranda?

Baylor is leaning towards him. That’s the reality we are at

Not saying you are wrong, but the attached link is written by the Baylor beat writer for the Waco paper and doesn't even list Aranda as a candidate. They are stressing Texas ties big time for this hire, so I doubt Aranda is a serious candidate.

If Dave leaves at this point, it would probably mean a significant salary cut for him. I don't see it happening.

They paid top 20 money to Briles and we’re paying Rhule over $4mil a year.

Aranda will probably get $4.5mil+

2 months ago? Sure.

But not in the middle of January.

Baylor was paying Rhule a little over $4 million last year. Pretty sure Baylor would pay him at least a little more than the $2.5 million he's getting from LSU now.

Yes go after Kris Richard!!! I just seen Dallas won’t retain him. He’s also from Carson, California and went to Junipero Serra. That’s a huge pipeline.

Kris Richard is an American football coach and former player. Richard was instrumental to the formation of the Legion of Boom defensive secondary. He helped coach and develop players such as Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas, Kam Chancellor, Brandon Browner, Byron Maxwell and for his rookie season only, Shaquill Griffin.

Screw that. Promoting from within his not a good idea for every freaking coordinator opening we have

I'm not saying I disagree with you, but it's been looking to me like this stockpiling of good coaches as analysts is a kind of coaching farm system. Those guys will be considered strongly and unless there is someone out there that knocks O's socks off, he will go with someone he is familiar with and trusts. Whatever he does, he has earned the benefit of the doubt from fans to let it play out.

I would bet he becomes Aranda's DC if he takes a head coaching gig. That is Aranda's guy.

DC at LSU is much better than DC anywhere Aranda is likely to get a job.

Sooner or later all the younger coaches will leave.
You pays your dollars and you takes your chances.
Aranda, swing and a hit. Pay him as much as you can for as long as you can. It’s called a coaching tree.
Canada, swing and a miss. You’re fired. It’s called pruning the coaching tree.

The only recourse is to find older coaches like E, or failed retreads like O or Saban (NFL).

All three work. I have faith that O is a great recruiter of talent, player and coaching. LSU has much to offer the young, old, and retreads alike.

Baylor won’t pay what LSU will pay. He wouldn't get the exposure either. He would be my first choice. Knows the scheme. Great recruiter. Been a d.c. before. Players don’t have to learn a new scheme either. Makes total sense to promote him.

I was in favor of Bud Foster if we hadn't gotten Aranda the first time, but I like Venables.

Those coke head eyes he has, defensive guys are scared not to play hard!

Why would Venables make a lateral move to coach in a much much more difficult conference?
