Men’s basketball is the 2nd biggest sport nationally, but will continue to be the 3rd biggest sport behind football and baseball at LSU. Both of those sports have proven that they can compete for and win championships on a consistent basis. Until basketball does that it will continue to lag behind at LSU imo

LSU basketball and football is 1a and 1b for me . Would love to see LSU win a National Championship in men’s basketball.
I’d trade every baseball title for one in men’s hoops .

Yea I’ve just always felt like it was a Louisiana thing. Maybe it’s just my experience but I don’t know very many people that keep up with or watch lots of basketball in general. I watched a little nba growing up but nowadays you couldn’t pay me to watch it. Just doesn’t do it for me.

I maybe know two people that will occasionally watch or attend a MBB game
Apparently at least two people that you know.

There was a niche group of posters here who had LSU Basketball as their number one sport for years—including some pretty lean years—myself included. I think LSUButt is the only one still left.
Its not McMahon’s fault. My interest started waning big time after Jones dropped the ball with that Simmons team then proceeded to bottom out a year later. Then came tPear and you could just see the vision he had and where we were headed. A perennial tournament team, all any LSU fan wanted.
Was tPear an idiot? Yup. Could Woodward have stood by the pear? Yea. Probably. Especially watching Kansas and Arizona skirt the ncaa. But we all know he wanted to bring in his own guy. And it isn’t and probably isn’t going to work. I really want it to because McMahon seems like a great guy but by and large watching his teams play makes me hate watching basketball. Ineptitude, confusion, turnovers, 8 minute stretches without a single point. Yea, the pmac is going to stay empty.

And likewise you must give a crap about basketball if you feel the need to post about it. Of course you just might be trying to get some of that attention that mommy never gave you.

Kansas is also a blue blood and media darling. What they let slide with Kansas because of who they are would definitely not slide with LSU basketball. NCAA probably would’ve drug their nuts across LSUs face had they kept Wade after that. Just because they could.

Man you’ve been miserable most your life then lol. At least Football and especially baseball contends or wins championships on occasion. I hate it for ya though. Lucky for me I’ve never cared enough about basketball to be bothered by LSU sucking.

I have zero fricks to give about basketball at any level. I get a lot of people love it, but to me it’s like soccer in that I have no interest in it whatsoever.
I hope all LSU sports do well, but I care about basketball just as much as I do swimming and diving.

I’m still waiting for a poster to claim they’ve been to 5-6 games this year lol
Checking in. I’m afraid the usual suspects shall discredit me and tell me I’m a bad fan for shitting on the team. Regardless, the reality is that we are fricked unless something drastic changes at once.
ETA: Also, the number 1 team in the country (Auburn, the SEC doormat of basketball for most of my life) will be playing in our arena on Wednesday and no one gives a frick. Even when we have sucked the PMAC would be packed for a game like this. There will be no one there. That’s how bad this situation is.

Be patient. MM is building slowly. Add a good 3 pt shooter and we're top 20.

Woody has driven a STAKE through the heart of Basketball Fans.
Who would be entertained by that?

I think what you see in these heated debates answers your question. We are those people. Our Dad's probably started taking us to games when we were 5, we love basketball and we love LSU.
There ain't many of us left you're right, but don't condescend, I'm sure there is something you are very passionate about that no one can understand either.
