Who on the defense, if lost, would be a bigger impact than Weeks?
I’m not making the argument that anyone would be. But I think our best players at the other two levels might be. Delane? McKinley? I’m making the argument that he is not “the key” to our defense, which to me means an irreplaceable player, without whom we’d have a hard time stopping teams.

You said it was reported multiple times that it was a hamstring. I guess you didn’t see the first time I asked. Can you link any of them?

As it stands, in your opinion, who is the player we can least afford to lose on defense?

You might as well ask your cat. I am very unfamiliar with the players we got from the portal. I would pick whomever is our best corner, but that’s just because we have been traumatized by bad DB play the last couple of years. But Whit Weeks might be the answer.

You argue a lot for a guy who can't even offer an opinion on the subject.

I did offer an opinion - that Whit Weeks, though a very good player, is not “The Key” to our defense.

You answered that in a way that made it seem like there may not be a "Key" to the defense at all.
So, as a follow up I asked you a more specific question.
You said something about asking a cat.
You seem like a semantics type of guy. I think Weeks is the most important player to our defense. I think losing him hurts a lot more than losing Aaron Anderson.
Feel free to agree, disagree, or decide you want to continue to play word games so you don't have to offer an opinion.

I offered an opinion on what I knew something about. I said that I didn't know to a question you asked, and I explained why. You seem to think we should pretend to knowledge that we don't have. And if you think that's word games it's because you're not very good with words.

It's not that serious man. It's an opinion. Nobody "knows".
My question was a simpler version of the original question. If you can't say which player is most important, how can you say no player is "key"?

Weeks is the key to our defense

I think that is almost the definition of not having a key player. If you had one it would be extremely obvious which was most important. Whit Weeks is projected as a late first round pick. That’s impressive, but it’s not Patrick Peterson or even Devin White. I suspect we have several defensive players of Whit Weeks’ caliber. I think if we lose Whit Weeks we will be worse, but I think the same of Mansoor Delane. I haven’t seen some of the additions play, but I hear that we have a hell of a DE and a safety who might pop, and maybe Dom dominates on the line. Any one of those guys might be a key, but I don’t think any of them are THE key. I wouldn’t bet the house on it, though, because, like I said, I haven’t seen them yet.
