The punt return was in ‘59.

2007 was the biggest emotional rollercoaster ever. Watching the pieces fall into place on that Saturday with the conference championships was incredible after the low of losing to Arkansas.

But 2019 was sheer joy through the whole season. We may never see it’s like again.

I love every title we've ever gotten. 2003, 2007, and 2019, but this is EASILY 2019. Got our 2nd Heisman winner in school in history (biggest margin of victory for this award ever), record setting offense, beating a crap ton of top 10 teams, and doing it without a loss. There's your answer.

2003 easily. Was getting worried I’d never see the Tigers win it all and it was just incredible when it did.

2019 isn’t far behind though

2003. It was a magic feeling.

2019 was a perfect season, but the reality still hasn’t set in for me.

2003: That first championship (for me) gave me a jolt of energy/unbridled joy of being a champion that I did not feel again until the Saints got their first championship. Like having sex for the first time.

2007: Great feeling, but not as unique as my first. Still great. Like having sex with my next more experienced girlfriend.

2019: Complete satisfaction. Dream season as far as checking all the boxes. Like having sex on my honeymoon with someone I had already been having sex with and she knows me perfectly.

2003 in a landslide.

Nothing beats the first time.

The 2003 game was the most exciting. Oklahoma still had a chance to tie the game until very late in the 4th quarter.

This was the one that popped our generation's cherry. Although if I'm gonna nitpick, that fricking Florida game that year was a buzzkill.

Imo

03 was the coming of age NC. I knew the team was great but that was the first time they really got to prove it

07 was my favorite just cause that was the craziest year in Cfb history. What better way to end it than with the hatter celebrating in New Orleans

19 was almost bitter sweet. I knew early on that the team was special and I should cherish each weak lol but it went by so fast. And with not much drama

What’s with this no drama BS? And went by so fast and we dominated every opponent so it was boring?

That is exactly what everyone wanted for the longest time?!?!?! A team that changed the way LSU plays offense and brought it into the new age of college football. We accomplished this for the first time in history AND we were the best to ever do it, all in the same year, at the same time!

We also producing the Hiesman, Biletnikoff, Maxwell, Thorpe, O’Brian, Walter Camp, Coach of the year, and Broyles awards in the same year. We tied the record for most players drafted with 5 in the 1st frickn round and there was an argument for more players drafted AND 1st rounders!!!

We showed college football what the forward pass was again and still had one of the best RB’s in the country. We fielded a top 10 defense, idc what stats say. Our defense performed with top level competition and imo redefined how football is to be played as a team. Our players remained fresh and they were fresh because when a player was hurt or slowed in any way, he was replaced, trained and got back to 100% while his backup received beneficial playing time.

We also played fast but at the same time kept the ball for great TOP averages for a hurry up team that passes and scores quickly. I believe LSU can and will do this again, maybe not this year, maybe this year, maybe next or the year after but I think this will become the norm for LSU in the coming years. We may not match our 19 numbers but we will be throwing for 4K+ type numbers with 40+ PTDs AND I believe our defense will get even better while working with these offenses and playing together as a team.

More sacks, more QB hurries, more fumbles, more ints, many more TFL, more risk but much more reward as well. We made it fellas, modern LSU football had arrived and we ate geared TF up to go kick some arse.

[quote] 2003: The split kind of taints it, unfortunately. LSU fans may not want to accept that, but the rest of the country certainly views it as a split.

I don't accept that 2003 was a "split." Here's why:

Why did USC say they "won the national championship" in 2003 after beating Michigan in the Rose Bowl, for the "AP" title, and essentially ignoring that the agreed upon BCSNCG hadn't been played yet?................BUT - GREEDILY AND READILY ACCEPTED THAT 'SAME' BCS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP IN 2004 - """IGNORING""" the AP Title they so ludcirously fawned over and proclaimed as the ONLY championship the year before ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

2003: i thought we were a year or two away from being that good.

2011: 4th year at LSU, absolute blast until it wasn’t. The total domination by a defense isn’t something we are likely to see again soon.

2007: senior in high school. Was an awesome season

2019: the best team. I’d put the Texas, Alabama and Florida games were as fun of football games as you can have.
