Punt? It’s been a long time since I’ve seen the ending, but I don’t remember punting. After Turner sacked Josh H I thought we ran out the clock?

Under today’s clock rules, it would have. We should have never had to sweat out that punt. Back then, the refs would set the ball after the play ended and then signal for the 25 second clock to start. I have never in my life seen refs spot the ball and set the clock so quickly.

Today the 40 second clock starts immediately to avoid such nonsense.

Hard to beat last season but 2003 was the first one experienced as an 18 year old and the first is always the sweetest.

2019, it closed the chapter that was a tough period. So much success during that period, but we were never on top. Always just short (Fournette heisman, 1 game away from SECCG each season), until the wheels came off.

2019- favorite because of the total season

2003- I was there and it had been a long time from the last one. And beating Oklahoma (Blue Blood) was special.

2007- I was there and it was great to be down 10-0 and come back and kick arse to OSU (another Blue Blood)

2003. It had been so long, but that defense was just sick.... the regular season game against UGA started the magic... and then the response after losing to FLA was amazing. We ended the season destroying Arkie 55-24 then destroyed UGA in the SECGC, and topped it off by beating a team that avg over 600 YPG and holding them to 152 total yards....... amazing.......

There is not more that can be said about the 2019 season......

Probably OSU-Miami in 2002.... The most riveting exciting game I ever saw.. and probably one of the biggest upsets.

03, because it was so unexpected, and changed the trajectory of the program

2003

Coming of age as an LSU fan in the late 80's/early 90's the thought of LSU remotely competing for a NC, let alone winning one was non-existent. Even as late as just 4 years prior to 2003 LSU had a losing record, which was the rule, not the exception in the 90's. Hell, even the 2002 team was just kind of "ok". The only significant win they had that year was over Florida. And that was WITHOUT Spurrier on the sideline, which seemed to make the win less significant. After Mauk was hurt the only games they won were a boring slugfest vs. a mediocre Ole Miss team and the miracle at Kentucky. With the SEC West on the line LSU got blown off the field by Alabama which seemed to just reaffirm the program wasn't ready to compete at a championship level. They then blew the SECW championship a second time with the late TD at Arkansas

The 2003 season seemed to come out of nowhere. There were no championship expectations going into that season and watching them finish the year doing something most thought was just a pipedream will ALWAYS be memorable...including the fact the championship game was played in NOLA. Getting a ticket to that game felt like winning the lottery.

That said, the 2019 season just seemed to be more fun as that group was just dominant from start to finish

In 03 it was magical because it had taken so long to win one and I didn't know if I would ever see one.
07 was special, I was so sick to my stomach after the Arkansas game. I knew our shot was gone. Then everything fell into place
19 is awesome just because of the domination of the team

2019 was perfect all around. I mean that. Perfect. The wins against Texas, Florida, Auburn, Bama were all incredible. I think the Oklahoma game was my favorite though. I drove down to watch it with my pops and we were giddy from the first score on. We couldn't believe what was going on in front of our eyes.

Dude, no one could believe we would beat that team that bad. I felt we were going to win, but to basically drop 7 touchdowns on them in basically 2 quarters. Jets looked other worldly and Burrow was laser accurate. I would say that was the best WR performance in LSU history except for Josh Reed against Alabama. I have never seen a WR that dominate. After that game, I believe the wrong receiver won the Biletnikoff award.

For me, 2019, and I have attended all three in my lifetime (1958 was before my time).

I was fortunate enough to attend Super Bowl XXIV, also in the Superdome, when the 49ers beat the Broncos 55-10. It was like deja vu seeing the domination -- Burrow was Montana, Chase was Rice, and Trevor Lawrence was as hapless as Elway was that day. Complete domination by an all-time great team.

2003 and not even close for me. It had been so long prior to that, and me and everybody else was starting to believe it couldn't happen.

It was an amazing year!

Burrow's QB draw

I remember being in edge the first half, even telling my wife “I saw this same dance in 2011.” When Burrow took off and pointed for a block sub :30, I knew there was just no way he would lose.

I remember at the end of the game they were sharing tweets on the video bird and the most memorable said “Joe Burrow. That’s it. That’s the tweet” and my god swagger. I remember thinking LSU played neck too when he was in the bike. Goddamn take me back.

In so many ways. That triple OT was beyond belief... and I forget that true freshmen HB who took over the game for OSU. Can't remember his name but that was his only year there. That boy was dynamite.

This.

That punt was a microcosm of the entire game for me. I have never sweated out more intently a single play in my LSU life. Every single bad scenario that could possibly happen went thru my head before Jones got that punt off. You wanted sooooo bad for that game to end. That second half took 3 hours it seemed.

Yes I'm over 40 and yes 2003 was by far the greatest of the NC's for me. It was sorta more of a relief at not losing than pure joy from winning. For the first time in my life we didn't watch someone else win. There was a big tailgate party organized primarily by the KOR that set up on Gravier. Grown arse men were sitting in a gravel parking lot and openly weeping hours after the game.

2019 is pretty damn hard to beat but 2003 for me because I was at LSU at the time. Unfortunately I didn’t get into the game but had a watch party in New Orleans then went out.

ETA I appreciate 2019 more.
