I think that most fans know their team won’t win a championship “every” year, but they also know when their team is at a level of stability that reasonably allows them to compete for one year in, year out. LSU has not been at that level in recent years, isn’t currently at that level and won’t be their next season.

If you aren’t at that level and don’t see yourself getting to that level, why play the game? Just trying to get the mindset.

I've been an LSU fan since I was five years old and have attended at least four home games a year and one away game since 1984. I assure you I am not the type of fan you speak of. I don't expect LSU to win Championships every year but I do expect LSU to hire coordinators that give us the best opportunity to compete for Championships every year! Orgeron promoting Ensminger to OC is definitely not going to give us the best opportunity possible to win the SEC next year or compete for a National Championship!

This is so rich. Ponamsky's minions were trashing aranda saying he wasnt worth the money, let him go, the defense wasnt that great, it was his fault we lost to ND.

The people who are fans of the fricking program were saying pony up the money. Seriously, frick you O sycophants.

Seemed average or better taking over for fired coaches. I haven't seen anything y eat to suggest otherwise.

we know he doesnt. dont fool yourself.

he took a roster of 52 4 and 5 star athletes into the weakest schedule in 2 decades AND LOST 4 GAMES. in no way is ed orgeron capable of winning a sec title. the greatest win of his life is beating a 4 loss auburn team

thats not running a program. thats taking the car keys from someone. we already know what happens when O gets to make long term decisions at a program.
his 1 and only big hire at lsu was a massive failure.

LSU football run by O and Aranda still has a little hope.
LSU football run by just O, and I guarantee the sky IS falling.

It doesn't really matter though. Some painful tectonic shift is going to have to happen before we're where we want to be again.

It’s really a shame that so-called fans are starting threads like this and crowing over a 9-4 season like it was some big accomplishment this season.

If that is success, LSU should have kept Miles.

Agree and when did average or better (vague term with latitude) become our program goal. That’s the fundamental issue underscoring our fan base divide.

We shouldn’t be striving for average. We are good now and should be after greatness. Does his coaching record support our program achieving greatness? Do he and this administration possess the skills to achieve greatness? It’s just damn football, but why play the game at this level of you are not chasing the pinnacle.

Ah, yes. The idiot who started the infamous "LSU will never be able to hire another top DC" thread. Have you returned to tell us more tales of woe today?

Do you care to offer a logical rebuttal of this point, or just throw out a non-applicable “I told you so?”

Yeah, that’s what I thought. Now go back and play with the rest of the mental midgets.

You are criticizing this thread when you started a much dumber one less than 24 hours ago. That's beyond stupid.

What elite DC did we attract from another school? If you can’t see the distinction between keeping a guy you already have and going out and poaching someone else’s guy, you’re logically blind.

This is the best you've got.

Seriously, man. Just take a break for a while and come back and try again in a week or two.
