Somewhere behind Furniss, somewhere ahead of everyone else.

On defense…first and it’s not close at all

Best defensive 1B all time, probably 2nd best behind Furniss.

Defensive GOAT. That squeeze play against Wake Forest is the stuff of legends.

Tre literally “made” about 12 games worth of outs in his career by his defensive acrobatics alone. So defensively, Tre is the GOAT. However, for those old enough to remember watching Furniss, you know he was above average defensively, and an absolute BEAST at the plate.

He’s the best glove I’ve seen at 1B at any level of baseball.

It sucks that he’s a lefty, because he could be an elite SS otherwise

Funriss
Hawpe
Dean
Morgan/Deichman

(Deichman would have hit 20+ homers with these bats/balls)

Matt Clark hit bombs. That’s all I remember about him. Not sure about his defense at 1B.

We’re counting Dean as 1B?

ETA: Same question for Deichmann… he was a terrible 1b

In college, I absolutely agree. At any level? I’d go with 11 time gold glove Keith Hernandez or maybe Don Mattingly, but I’m probably older than you.

The GOAT right now.

Unfortunately for him, his historical prowess will be overshadowed by Jared Jones' next 2 years.

Using Eddy's first 3 years...

Tre' Morgan was the best 1b ever at LSU.
Eddy only had one more hit than Tre and struck out 43 more times.
And Eddy only got hit by a pitch 5 times while Tre' took 47 for the Tigers.
