Last place... or 350th, whichever is worse.

Orgeron Is the worst.
And I’ve seen them all since Cholly Mac.

Maybe look up their records

Their records are as good or better as Ed Orgeron’s will be this year and would’ve been every year going forward. We would never win more than 4 games again under Orgeron, he’s a historically bad coach

Coach ranking is tough. For some of them we tend to include our perception based on their time outside of LSU as well. And there's always the difficulty of era-to-era comparisons and different methods of picking a champion over time. I think based solely on what they did at LSU:

1. Miles
2. Dietzel
3. Saban
4. Orgeron

My sentiments exactly. Miles has to be number one, even though i didn't like his last three seasons. Deitzel had more longevity than Saban, but I would rank Saban over Orgeron. Contrary to how we feel now, Orgeron is easily in the top four, having never had a season below .500 at this point.

He’s the all-time worst, and it’s not close

I mean he is one of 4 who won a natty. That counts for something.

Yes and that keeps him from being ranked dead last. But the way he’s killed the program since winning a natty counts for something too.

Dietzel and Arnsparger definitely better than Miles. They built something.

I’m not a Miles apologist but he built some damn good teams. He rebuilt the roster after 2007 and that 2011 team (maybe the second best LSU team ever) was 100% built by Les. Sure 1/9/12 is a stain on that team but let’s not pretend that Miles could not build a solid roster.

Depends on your criteria of ranking coaches. For me, he would be near the bottom with hallman and archer

You must not have been around for the Archer or Hallman years. We are nowhere close to that and were never anywhere close to a national championship with them.

Arnsparger was awesome ! His D was some of the baddest asses to ever play for LSU ! Ramsey Dardar, Bill Elko, Henry Thomas, I can't remember them all but he could coach a D, and they attacked. With the spread RPO stuff I think he could have figured it out but he was right with Saban on D side of the ball. I loved old school Les and yes he made some crazy arse descions on game day but I loved me some Les. If aleva would have not been involved maybe Les would have made a change OC I think he didn't change to mess with JA.

Obviously you are too young to remember Archer or Hallman. Maybe look up their records.

Seriously. Hell, Dinardos last two years were bad esp 1999. People are apoplectic about this year, and it isn’t good by any means of course, but the first few years of O were way better than any years of most other LSU coaches.

“The drug testing program needs to be reworked that “sets the program back” more than anything O did.”

One of the stupidest things ever posted on the rant

If Arnsparger didn’t want Spurrier why did he hire him at Florida? Blaming the Hallman era on him when Archer was here for 4 years in between is either pure ignorance or dishonesty. He left Archer with a gold mine so much so that even he had great success early on but wasn’t good enough to maintain it. It seems like you didn’t actually witness any of that era because everything you said is so far from reality. Besides Nick Saban, Bill Arnsparger is the best head football coach LSUs ever had period.

Not sure where I'd rank him, numerically, but way down towards the bottom after looking at his entire body of work.

LSU's program in the late 80s-early 90s was a vastly different program than it is today.

Umm, not so sure about that.

Yes, this program is coming off a stretch that was even greater than the 70's and early 80's. Yes, more money coming in.
But we're looking at 2 consecutive seasons without a winning record in either, most likely. That's pretty damn bad.
