I think any way you slice it LSU is not a team you wanna have to play in the post season.

EVERYTHING is there to win it all. Literally just have to eliminate errors. Without errors, this team can beat anyone.

defense & pitching to go this far.

Defense is bad but the pitching is really good.

I think people are looking at the lack of normal starters and expanding that to the whole staff. Hilliard, while not a conventional, is a true Friday night starter. The Dutton/Taylor combo on Sunday is an advantage against most teams. Money on Saturday is an issue I agree but the bullpen is good enough to overcome one bad start and maybe even two bad starts in a weekend.

We need a weekend like the Florida weekend though to get all the bullpen arms rest.

I know we're mixing and matching and it's working, but the finer points of how we're getting there aren't optimal. Using guys three times in a weekend, getting guys hot multiple times a game and not bringing them in. I know it's kind of a "win the day, worry later" thing, but I'm worrying now. The emergence of Hasty and potential emergence of Fowler should put us in a position that we can get through a weekend without a guy here or there to give them a break (or at least only get used once on the weekend).

And I'd really like to see pretty much no weekend pitchers tonight, but I know that's pissing in the wind.

confidence in the guy with the ball in his hand effects the play of the defense. I don't know why exactly, it shouldn't, but it does. It's the difference between having the mindset of dominating a team and trying not to lose.

I’m with you, I believe a sweep @bama is completely possible along with taking 2 from both OM and Vandy.

Not having a #2 starter is going to make it very difficult to get to Omaha. They’ll have to slug their way there.

LSU is exactly the team you want to play in the postseason. LSU doesn’t have: Frontline shut down starter; team speed is lacking; can’t steal bases or move runners over; poor infield defense and range.

This is true, but only if you ignore everything Hilliard has done since he moved to the Friday night role.

Eliminated from regionals or super regionals as soon as the errors happen. If they stay error free I see them 1-2 in Omaha.

Super regionals maybe a win away from Omaha if at home.

If sent to the road it could be vastly different.

Would be nice to get Milazzo and Dugas back...it's crazy to think they've been out basically the entire SEC play.

Yes we do. In fact, that's exactly the kind of pitching we have. Once past the Aces, we pitch better than most teams.

I can see us going 6-3 or 3-6 to finish out sec play. I haven't been able to figure out this team yet.

1. National Seed after sweeping Bama, Ole Miss and Vandy, winning the SEC Tourney in Hoover.
2. Winning it all despite never beating a single non-SEC opponent in Omaha.

Hilliard hasn’t lost a game since before covid was a thing is one of the craziest stats I’ve seen.

I know it comes off as win the day but the coaching staff actually has a good plan. They have a 30 pitch rule and do a great job of keeping the top bullpen guys under that number so they are. available the next day.

I have to disagree. There are probably five teams that are far better than us even without the errors. But errors are part of what we are. They can go away for a game or three, but they will be back.
