Theriot and Fontenot were the double play combo for the Cubs in 2007-2008.

believe Theriot and Brian Wilson was more recent. But other poster has it right. Bregman and Harris the past 2 seasons is the most recent. Also former LSU players on the same team were Belle and Sirotka for the White Sox and Albert Belle and Chad Ogea for the Indians (played in the World Series together, both being very important pieces).

Theriot/Fontenot and Mahtook/Jones are unique in that they actually played together at LSU and in the majors

ETA: Now that I think about it, I think Nick Goody and Nick Rumbelow were up for the Yankees at the same time a couple years ago. Obviously Rumbelow is back in AAA (with a 0.69 ERA in 29 IP) and Goody is now with Cleveland

I saw the Cubs in 2007 and Theriot and Fontenot started that day. Theriot at short and Fontenot at 2nd. Twice that game Fontenot got a base hit, stole 2nd, and was singled home.

It has happened a bunch. I mean a bunch over the years. I'd bet 40-50 percent of the time since 2000.

Unfortunately Detroit pitching tonite sucks as it's 6-2 KC top of 7th but maybe Mikie and Jacoby might save the day
