Oh, for God’s sake! This is just stupid. Saban had nothing to do with that 2019 championship,
if you don't think Saban's elevation of LSU to championship status has had residual effects that continue to this day, you're just in denial.

except to be our bitch in Tuscaloosa
ok, yes, we beat them by 5 points in Tuscaloosa in '19 with our best team in a generation, perhaps ever. And it was great.

But that's our only win in the last 10 meetings.

'19 was great, but we followed it up with a 38 point loss this year. And their last 5 wins against us have been by a combined 148-43, including two shutouts in Baton Rouge.

So hang your hat on '19 if you like, but it's been one outlier in a decade of failure.

Tell that to Mike Archer, Currly Hallman and to some extent Gerry Dinardo…yes I know the spelling might suck

Oh that's right and has nothing to do with recruiting. That's part of it you know. Not just X's and O's.

A great Football program that any decent hire can win titles at.

and imo, Miles and Orgeron fall into that category, average to decent

Miles took a program at the top. JR and Flynn were left by Saban and Fisher. Kept it going for a few years, but the wheels were coming off.
Orgeron has replenished the talent. Greatest team in NCAA history. It was gutted by NFL and COVID.
We now have three QBs better than any Miles brought here. We also so have a couple more in the pipeline.
Miles probably ranks with Curly as a program builder.
He had a hell of a lot more money to recruit and hire assistants than did Curley or Dinardo.

We are not "gutted by COVID" any more than anyone else.
And we were not "gutted by the NFL" except that we have a lot of talent that goes to the league.
If you recruit at a championship level consistently, you should lose players to the NFL consistently. If you are "gutted by the NFL" you are not replacing your talent with consistent elite recruiting.
In short, stop making excuses for Orgeron's performance last year. He took a sabbatical and got laid.

Saban is our daddy. No saban. No modern LSU. It’s a fact.

This is, without question, the most moronic fricking thing to ever grace the Rant. You are absolutely the dumbest poster of all fricking time.

Good coaches are good, bad coaches are bad. LSU pays top dollar because good coaches = a good program you fricking idiot!

Look I love Coach O, but for him to stay successful he’ll have to continually hit on every coaching hire. It’s not like we don’t have to worry about one side of the ball because Ed has it covered and has a system. The brand sells itself but we still need to figure out ways to beat Clemson, Bama and Georgia for recruits.

Soooo….coaching is not much of a factor in your opinion? We have had and will have many very talented players, but without a coach to recruit them to come to school. That’s just to start.

The wheels were coming off, but only because the game had changed. Miles had the pieces in place to continue winning had the game not changed.

That 5 point lead would have evaporated if there was another couple minutes left and Tua was not hurt

bullshite. Several of his early championships at Alabama were old school before he himself changed with the times. That being said he wasn't modern at LSU. He won at LSU old school style which is what Miles continued before NCAA football became what you see today.

The brand sells itself to a degree, but not fully. No way. The point is, O is more than just a cheerleader, which is all you were giving him credit for.

If reports are correct, Ennert showed the numbskulls at LSU what investing in an athletic program could accomplish. He brought in Saban and we won a Championship.
The game has changed but Saban's formula has not. He recruits the biggest, strongest, fastest players in the country. Then he coaches them.
Few have equal talent to Alabama.
He was out coached while at LSU and Alabama when he had equal or less talent than the opposition.
If that is not true, how do you account for UAB?
Didn't Alabama lose to ULM his first year there?

good lord man, you're cherry-picking 2 games out of almost 20 years of coaching.
