2022 teams being good enough to play for a national championship.

yeah, no. Our defense was never going to give us a shot at a national championship. There is no argument.

USC was better than Oklahoma. They could have beat us.

Could have are the key words. We could have beat them and probaby would have. There’s nothing lucky about that

the more I read your posts, the more it is obvious that you are not the brightest bulb in the fixture.

Good catch. 1908 was our year. But yes, still TR.

That was a pretty solid defense in 2022. JD plays with a little more balls and it's feasible.

Bookmarked for January '28. Holler at me about mysticism then. Did we make any of the title games in years you mentioned? You made my point. It's still real to me Damnit!

Ah yes, since the 2000 season there have been 4 national championship games held in the Superdome and it just so happens LSU has played in all 4 (with 3 different coaches) and not appeared in any of the others held elsewhere, what a coincidence.

The 1958 title culminated with a win over Clemson in the Sugar Bowl as well, though the title was awarded before bowl games back then.

It's funny looking at the 2019 playoff field

1958 - Sugar Bowl win over Clemson
2003 - Sugar Bowl win over Oklahoma
2007 - Title game win over Ohio St in New Orleans

2019 - playoff field other than LSU was Clemson, Oklahoma, Ohio St with the title game in New Orleans.

The common thread among LSU national championships is that they only occur under Republican presidents.

As do massive recessions.
