It's a weird time to make this post when he pitched his best game this season yesterday.

He went to long and then Anderson got hit also.

Who would you start on Sundays?

But those few games, which were some of the biggest of the year last year, show the potential he has as a starter.

We have multiple guys like that. Herring, Ack, Coleman. They can all be good pitchers. But you have to be able to do it consistently. It’s dumb to base your opinion on few games instead of the 25+ other games that he has pitched in.

We didn't lose the series this weekend because of Hurd; we lost it because our bats are anemic aside from a few solo HRs

Agreed, but Hurd has a 7.09 ERA. That doesn’t bode well for a team with an offense that struggles to score runs at times.

Jesus, I swear some of you just come out of nowhere and will post just about anything that fits the narrative of hating whichever player you dislike.

Hurd was not the issue yesterday. Yes he ran into a bad inning but he was on the receiving end of some bad luck. If that ball is caught the game is entirely different. Not to mention the real issue was once Johnson was ejected the team literally had no life or effort.

So who would you suggest in the Sunday role? I don’t disagree that Hurd is again not living up to our hopes. Can Ack or Herring give you 4+ innings consistently? Coleman hasn’t done anything of note in 2 years besides buzz Caglianone then get taken yard and tell Jay he wants the ball against Wake then need Herring to come in and save our CWS hopes.

Hurd is a POS in my book. Everything that he gets is well deserved..

it's personal

It’s bizarre honestly.

He’s a D1 baseball player at a major program. I’d be more shocked if he wasn’t a douche

No idea, but trotting a guy out there that has proven more often than not that he isn’t an effective starting pitcher doesn’t seem like a great idea. Again, Hurd not being a good starting pitcher isn’t some hot take. It’s the same think we saw last year and is the reason why Jay ended up moving him to the bullpen.

When are stupid LSU fans going to realize that JJ has
more BB knowledge than they do?

LSU needs 3 (starting) pitchers for the 3rd SEC game. No pitcher should pitch more than once through the order(unless we are scoring multiple runs). The next pitcher warns up as if he were starting as well as the third. Hopefully if each can go 3 innings with each and we score more than 3 runs, we may get a WIN in game 3.

Hurd is fine - what JJ needs to realize is that Bingham isn’t an SEC OF.

Kling and Pearson should be locks, with Brown and Larson competing for the other spot. Maybe give Paul some midweek action.

THIS is concerning. If anything, that should light a fire under a competitive team.

Hurd’s stuff has fallen off very quickly this year. By the 5th he’s done. It’s not mental. His stuff seems gone.
