I don’t have any problem retiring numbers, especially after leading a team and winning the Natty, than would mean 4 numbers retired. Still plenty numbers remaining…..

His NFL resume has nothing to do with anything here.

The two aren't remotely the same .

I didn't realize we had a 10 year policy.

Burrow won a heisman on the way to a National Title run that including him breaking almost all the CFB records. What else does he need really?

Billy Cannon's name should be on the Stadium. It will never happen because of what happened after football.

No it wasn’t a really great year. It was the best year. By any team. Ever. The leader and best player on the team who won the Heisman was #9.

NFL has nothing to do with it. You think UF should forget about Tebow?

Something feels strange about putting up a statue of a guy still in his 20s. Wait till he’s finished playing at least.

That was a really great year. But if we retired numbers and threw up statues every time a player did that we’d run out of numbers and would need a whole park for him.

If we retired numbers for dudes who won a heisman trophy in a national championship season, we would have a grand total of one number retired.

What?

It’s one of the best years in the history of the sport we all love.

The sport is over 150 years old.

2019 is on the Mount Rushmore looking back at all teams starting with Rutgers in the 1800s.

Put up the statue.

I’m fine holding off on the number retirement.

We’ve been over this. Number retirement comes first. It’s obviously going to happen as no one has worn the number in 5 years

Actually no. It’s only been done once at LSU and likely never again.

15-0 Heisman national title won’t be done again in that fashion with those big numbers like Burrow had.

exactly how often do you think we're gonna have a guy put up arguably the greatest QB season in the History of the sport and win the Heisman by the largest margin in history?
