I really became a fan in the early 90s. I went to the LSU summer camps, and I remember my buddy got Chad Cooley and I got Kevin Ainsworth one year and I thought I got screwed because my mentor was the right fielder. Dude ended up a first round draft pick.

Early 80s. Saturday doubleheaders were very cheap to get into, and we were not able to go to many football games so we spent a lot of time at the old Box.

My freshman year at LSU was Fall 83/ Spring 84. I had a remedial math class that a baseball coach taught. Many of Skip’s first team were in that class with me (Manny Mantrana, Craig Faulkner, etc). Started going to games that spring and have never stopped. I’m 60 now and can’t believe what I have witnessed over the years. Who remembers at the old Box when they used to put fans on the field along the baselines and drew a white line around the people for out of bounds. Those early years were the best as we fought our way to the top.

Fandom, not sure. I loved lsu baseball in early to mid 90’s growing up when I was in high school, but only got to see a game or two in person. Ben McDonald then chad Ogea, then the Warren Morris CWS HR. My dad and I listened on the radio.
Fast forward to 2023 when I got espn + and I guess that’s when I became addicted. I watch every game possible starting in’23 and average 5 game year in person. I don’t live in BR so logistically it’s kind of tough.

A real OG

I watched as much as I could in the 90s but it was hard. I also lived outside of the radio broadcast area and newspapers did not in the area did not really cover college baseball. I did go to work for the local paper and talked the sports department into at least posting the scores and standings.

My first memories of the CWS were watching the Maine Bears playing in the 80s and Greg Swindell's curveball at the CWS

Saw my first game at the old Box in the mid 70s. We won the SEC in '75 which was cool but LSU baseball was an afterthought on those days.

I used to go to skips grand slam USA back in the day as well as go to his camps. The players were like superheroes and being able to get close to those guys is what got me hooked.

The first thing I remember about LSU baseball was when I was 6 years old and I was gifted a set of Baton Rouge General LSU baseball cards. Idk why but I memorized every bit of information on every card, in 1991 they won it all but the only game I remember watching was the natty. We won 2 season tickets in 1992 as part of some Hoppers raffle. (Only real 80s and 90s Baton Rouge folk remember Hoppers). By 93 we were buying season tickets and I was all in that season. By the time Warren morris hit his only homerun of the 96 season I knew baseball was going to be my career/life’s work

1983. Was a student and would bring my books and study at the games. It was as quiet as the library, but with less people.

You literally give up on the team faster than anyone. You are no fan.
