It's not an excuse it's reality. Simply put, we are rebuilding.

BS! He inherited and SEC Championship team and in his third year he loses to Nichols State. That is not rebuilding.
I have confidence he will improve the team as the season progresses, but it is surprising how much the bar has been lowered in three years.

Are you serious??? The problems we are having right now are due to ONE PERSON. Brady. The direction of the program is trending upward, not downward. Check out basketball recruiting every now and then. Good things are on their way. Give TJ a chance to get his players in here.

I'm certainly not happy about it, but I also don't think it's that big of a deal.

When you play as many young players as LSU plays, there are going to be these kinds of nights.

I have been really impressed with the freshmen, but Malcolm White has been a complete let down. Hopefully, he is just getting himself back in the groove of things.

Any hopes of a good season, in my mind, were predicated on White averaging around 12 points, 8 rebounds. I haven't seen that type of player yet.

In this case, a mediocre Nichols team beat a mediocre LSU team

Which is the problem that everyone is bitching about.

Your post is littered with fail. Brady hasn't been here for 3 years. Trent Johnson has recruited enough players for an entire rotation. If you take your own advice and "check out basketball recruiting every now and then," you'd see that Brady brought in quite a few stud classes.

TJ needs to get his **** together or find a new place to keep it.

So many things wrong with what you just said, I'll try to work through them all.

Brady did not recruit. Tasmin's godfather Butch did. Also, LSU did not recruit well outside of the Baton Rouge area. Those "stud classes" basically recruited themselves.

It's pretty clear the best players on this team right now are freshman that Trent Johnson recruited. FRESHMAN that have played 2 games now.

He has done very well so far in recruiting. We have signed a forward for next year that some have rated the top forward in the nation.

It takes time to build a recruiting base in basketball, especially with a school where basketball is the 3rd most popular sport.

I followed Brady as closely as just about anyone, and I have followed TJ's efforts just as closely. I have no complaints about what he is doing.

Whether you agree or not, he is pursuing the construction of a long-term, stable program. He has recruited stable players, with good academics and character. He could have jumped out and brought in a JUCO player for a quick fix, but didn't do that.

His first year, he could have rushed out and signed some players, but he decided to save the scholarships for the following year to give him an opportunity to make relationships and sign a higher quality of player, which he did.

He is basically the Anti-Brady. We enjoyed some high times, and some low times with Brady. I enjoyed the hell out of the good times, but agonized over the bad times. TJ is attempting to build a high level program that has stability, without the shitty seasons every other year.

Again, whether you agree or not, that is what is happening.

Worst thing about Brady. We had the most inconsistent program in the SEC with him as the HC. For every decent season you had 2 losing seasons.

Right. Some people may prefer Brady's approach. Trent has no doubt voiced his plan to Alleva, and I'm sure they are on the same page. Trent deserves an opportunity to put it in place.

Let's not forget that we won the SEC in 2009.

I am thinking the same. I am not expecting anything this year anyway, so why get worked up over it.

I'm generally referred to as a "homer", "sunshine pumper", etc --which really doesn't bother me.

Losing to an in-state school in and of itself isn't too big of a deal in basketball as it happens quite often. Losing to someone as bad as Nicholls State and putting up a whopping 53 is just pitiful.

With the freshman we have this year, plus next years recruits, the future looks VERY bright for LSU Basketball. Trent Johnson has proven himself everywhere he has gone.

If you can't see this then you have serious problems.

This is total conjecture and nonsense. Sure, Butch was a top-flight recruiter, but don't act like he was the sole reason we got the players we did.

As for stud recruits from outside of the Baton Rouge area:

Ronald Dupree, Jaime Lloreda, Lamont Roland, Xavier Whipple, Stromile Swift, Jabari Smith, Ross Neltner, Tack Minor, Magnum Rolle, Anthony Randolph, Chris Johnson

All of those guys were top recruits. Again, your post is littered with fail.

Proven himself? I am not impressed by feats of strength. Dan Hawkins proved himself at Boise St, too.
