re: When did the rant become so basketball savvy?

I have a feeling people who post angry snot implying LSU 'should' beat such and such a team never actually played competitive hoops.
Nichols came in rated higher than LSU by Sagarin.
The uniform does not matter in hoops. LSU is not 'supposed' to win. In this case, a mediocre Nichols team beat a mediocre LSU team. The LSU coach praised the victor, which is generous, but Nichols is not going to move up into the top 25 after this win.

The rant is pathetic. Half of these frickin morons complaining about the loss don't even watch basketball or care. Just wanna complain.

Certainly not good. Certainly not what you want to happen. And I doubt TJ would even want someone like myself to make excuses for him, because that's how he is and that's why I like him so much. He takes full accountability. shite, he even takes accountability for the lack of support.
But Nichols isn't bad, the team is young, and I still see us as a team that is going to have to go through some tough times before we can see what they truly have.
Thats all good TA, but there is no excuse in the book that anyone can throw at me to make me feel good about a loss to Nicholls state. Just horrible.

You're right uniform really doesn't mean anything in college hoops. I mean christ some of the top teams in the country are NO NAMES.

That's a fair opinion, but believe me, I am confident in my college hoops knowledge. I find it nice that people are pissed about this loss. Actually looks like some people care about basketball.

Nicholls ST is not a good team, and is an even worse basketball program.
Don't give me the parity bullshite. They wont win their conference, or sniff the postseason.
It's not like we are talking about some mid major powerhouse. Get a fricking clue. This is a horrible loss, and certainly not Trent's first

because there is nothing to bitch about with our football team or baseball team at the moment

I don't need to be basketball savvy to know that LSU shouldn't lose to Nicholls in basketball.
I don't expect the world of our basketball team, but is it really too much to ask to not be embarassing? Because that's where we are right now, rebuilding mode or not.
Now, how long is this "rebuilding" going to take again? All season?
Now listen carefully, because even if you disagree with what I've already said... this is the important part:
As long as we use "rebuilding" as an excuse... we will continue to be a "rebuilding" team.
There will be no excellence without first EXPECTING excellence.

Go grab a pile of shite and just keep EXPECTING gold and you will get the same results...

Not when we wont amount to anything, not to mention those LSU fans who generally don't like watching a bunch of missed shots and missed opportunities
But I thought you didn't watch?

It's not an excuse it's reality. Simply put, we are rebuilding.

it's basketball. Teams lose inexplicable games.
That being said, I think LSU will be about 6-10 in SEC play

Yeah I was hoping for .500 or possibly 9-7 but 6-10 might be more reasonable. We'll see. Still a lot of time, hopefully these kids are playing better ball come SEC play.

quote:I think 4-12 will be a more realistic number. No inside scoring threats, very inexperienced backcourt. I know the SEC is not a great basketball conference, but LSU's gonna have to have ridiculous shooting nights to compete in this conference, and I just can't see that happening night in and night out. BUT, I have been wrong before and I hope I am wrong about this one. Maybe they can gel and go on a run at the end of the year and win the conference tournament. That's something that a young team could pull off at the end of the year.

we've won 80+ straight against LA teams.

yeah we know there's a thread about it.

quote:4-12 might be even more reasonable. LSU's talent is inexperienced and they are going to get little to no inside scoring from the post players, esp when they go up against better competition. If the shots aren't falling from the outside, this team is gonna struggle. They may struggle some even when the shots are falling.
