Basketball only fills the space between when football ends and baseball begins. Other than that, who cares.

I think baseball sucks, is boring and a complete waste of time. However, I don't intrude on baseball threads and proclaim that. I recognize that different people have different interests. Most of the people in this thread legitimately care about LSU basketball. If you don't, why are you here?

Seriously man? You gonna come here with that? Half of that list could not be considered "stud".

Btw, you never responded to the fact that TJ recently signed arguably the TOP forward in the country. Right direction? Our best players are freshman....right direction?????

Okay, hotshot. You tell me which ones were not considered top recruits. You clearly know very little about the history of the program.

it's basketball. Teams lose inexplicable games.

This is true.

Or sometimes good division 1-AA teams beat mediocre (and sometimes above-average) division 1-A teams. All one has to do is look at the sweet sixteen lineup in the last couple of decades. Wichita State, Southwest Missouri State, SIU. Hell Butler went to the Final Four last year. Anyone can field a good basketball team...and in a short period of time.

All of that said, LSU should not have lost to Nicholls State. The biggest concern I have is that LSU appears to be heading down the same path as last year. Why is LSU regressing from 2008-2009's season?

Yea, it only proved that he could take the same exact team that lost their arse the year before and win the SEC Championship. Nice job man

I've already made my case on that one. The team clearly folded and ended up with a MUCH worse record in Brady's last year. Also, Tasmin Mitchell was injured. Like I said before, 2007-2008 was an anomaly because of a lot of reasons.

It isn't. Trent Johnson has this program headed in the right direction. There's a recruit who may play here in 12 months.

Neither are E8 and FF appearances. It just seems like people are totally incapable of objectively viewing Brady's tenure.

Apples and Oranges to the 2008-9 team. But, I agree with you about Brady. Don't forget the 2000 SEC title and Sweet 16. One of Brady's biggest problems was he was just such a jerk. He couldn't curry favor with the fans during tough times. But that 2006 team was a damn strong basketball team.

So we are judging regression by 1 game? Awesome

If Nicholls makes it to the round of 32 I'm fine with this loss. I just don't see that happening.

Let us look at what has transpired since 2008-2009:

2009-2010 was a pitiful season. Pitiful.

2010-2011 has seen 2 games: squeaking by a powerhouse NSU team and getting beat by Nichols.

That's more than 1 game.

I agree. The 2000 Sweet 16 run was much more impressive considering the severe sanctions.

The only thing that is awesome is your ability to wipe the memory of the 2009-2010 LSU basketball season clean from your mind. Wish I could.

And that's my opinion, too. Hell, if they make it to the first day of the tournament, I'd feel that this loss wasn't as bad as it looks on paper.

Watch what happens when next year we are a tourney team and in 2 years a top 20 team. I can't wait to see what you guys say. I am just wondering if you are going to jump on the bandwagon or just walk away and find something else to complain about. This year will be another tough one. The true lsu fans see that. We are definately headed in the right direction. Jester....You say the last year under Brady we didn't have tasmin but we did have a top 15 draft pick...I'd say he was a little more talented than Tasmin...If we had Randolph in Trents first year we might have won the whole thing.

I will be thrilled. You left out the "if," though. I hope you understand that the future is an illusion. Reality is NOW, and now we lose to Nichols.

No disagreement, but that doesn't mean TJ is in no way responsible for it.

I hope so, but I'm really not seeing that silver lining in 2 extremely sloppy games and a terrible season.

Tasmin brought leadership to the floor. Randolph is a physical freak, but is STILL an immature player. When Tas went down, we had no leader.

How can Brady apologists be complaining? This is exactly what they were most proud of during the Brady Error: a great season, followed by two shitty ones.
