Well, except one member. “Adrian Magee was too tired,” a player said. “You could see in film when the fight was going on, he was standing grabbing water.”

Looking back at old thread with stories from former players on how O beats the shite out of himself to pump up the team. Never gets old.
quote:

Trey Gallman: He's got this thing he does about getting your hands up and getting ready to fight before every game. He's like, "Get your hands up, be ready to fight, be ready to take a lick in the face." And every single Saturday in his pregame speech he punches himself in the face. Hard as shite. One time he knocked his false tooth out. He just straight-up jacked himself in the jaw and spit his tooth out and kept talking. It was like, "Holy shite. Did that just happen?" He's just steady talking and we're just looking at the tooth on the floor like, "Wait, what?"

Michael Ostrom: We honestly thought he broke his jaw. This was not a sissy punch. This was a full-on haymaker that he threw on himself. A game last year, we came in at halftime. He tore his shirt off and pounded on his chest and pounded on the walls. People were grabbing chairs, throwing them everywhere, because he's just getting us so pumped up.

JD Moore: I don't know if that's been something he's been doing for a while, but he seems very comfortable taking a fist to the chin. I mean, it works.

Ethan Pocic: My senior year bowl game: We're playing an 11 a.m. or noon game. Citrus Bowl. Coach O walked up in front of the room, guys were talking, and you just hear it go quiet. He's just standing there and everyone is looking at him and he just punched himself in the face. Everyone was like, "Whoa." And then he did it again!

DeSean Smith: He said, "You've got to punch them in the mouth" and just started hitting himself. I'd have a broken jaw the way he was punching himself.

David Ducre: Another little quirky thing coach O likes to do: Sometimes to hammer his point across, he won't say anything, but he'll just look at the room and put on a little mean face. He'll flex a little bit, and then he'll just punch himself in the jaw and then flexes again.

Or again in college football.
He was tough as nails, smart, competitive, total team player, rewrote the offensive passing record books and brought our beloved Tigers a National Championship!

Our high school championship basketball team got into a few good fights at practice.

It shows the intensity and competitive nature of the team and is a good thing IMO...

I loved the story of when Coach O was a young position coach at Syracuse.
He would be there at 5 a.m. doing insane workouts.
Another young coach asked him why he was there so early and he stared at the guy and said, “ The day I don’t think I can whip another mans arse is a day I don’t get out of bed! “

Is the point of this thread that Miles Brennan needs to go kick JaCoby in the nuts?

When Jimbo first went to FSU, he mad the WR's block as Clayton and Bowe did. DBs didn't like it and starting complaining and then fighting. Toughened them all up.

If it helps bring the team together, then sure. Greater good.
