On the same hand we got some pretty big breaks as well. The flee flicker pass that the receiver somehow managed to be out of bounds on. The holding call on #79 on the run down the LSU sideline, if he had not blocked at he still wouldn’t made the tackle and there was no one on that side of the field. And their punter. He must have been on LSU’s pay roll bc he was terrible. The kick return fumble where the Georgia player pretty much just dropped the ball on their own 5 yardline was a nice gift as well.

When LSU ran RPO, they killed UGA. Burrow runs it great and you can't tell if he has the ball or the RB. Our RBs gashed them out of that and that is the reason Burrow broke a 58-yarder on them in the 4th. They had to pause every time and didn't know what was coming. We have to continue to use this heavily.

Once we wore them down, then pitchouts with CEH worked in the running game. But early, it was the north-south running out of the RPO that worked.

Our running game success is the biggest surprise for me this year. We are running very successfully against good defenses.

First, awesome game - fought until the end, regardless of score. Big plus and hope it continues for next week.

Burrow has guts and sets the tone for competitive offense that won’t quit.

Cole Tracy calmly scores half our points. Can we find a loophole for him to stay?!

Holyfield is a nightmare to defend.

We cannot execute a screen pass. Hope we can fix that because it would be a useful play.

completely agree, but Battle gets totally lost at times.

Red zone offense has got to improve. This game should have been worse than it was.

yes it does and it's hard to understand why. As happy as I have been with the playcalling overall I think it leaves something to be desired in the redzone. I know they were 8-8 in the redzone but we should be getting more TD's. it looks like they become very careful down there and want to be sure they get points. But I think sometime it hurts them by not pushing the envelope down there.

Cole Tracy is money.

no doubt

had a friend tell me yesterday that for being so big, he plays small. I think part of it was the guy that guarding him but I want to keep a eye on this and see if it is a legit comment.

Little dude is a fire plug and tough as nails but his best asset is his vision as well as Brossette they both do a great job of running to daylight.

I cannot say enough about how this OL has stepped up. I think the shuffling because of injuries long term will be a blessing. It gave a lot of experience to the young guys against top notch opponents that they may not have gotten. As a result we have a 2 deep line that is battle tested in the heat of battle and not just in mop up time.

Our receivers still need to improve. several times they quit on routes on what could have been plays, a few miss reads on their part also but they are improving and we all know they must get Chase and Marshall on the field.

Joe Burrow is the QB we have all been waiting for. He is tough as nails and isn't scared of the moment. As the offense evolves he will also.

last but not least Orgeron and staff completely outcoached Georgia no if and or buts. Kirby got his arse handed to him.

Burrow has more than moxie.

Out of 275 yards rushing, 192 were on zone reads. The guy has a great football IQ.

Ensminger deserves a (shrimp) boat load of credit. Called an excellent game. I loved how we mixed up the tempo. UGA’s D seemed off kilter all game. O and E outclassed the UGA staff in a big way.

Agreed with OP on red zone offense as well. It could have been about 50-16 instead. Either way, I loved what I saw out of the offense.

Cole Tracy. What are we going to do without him next year?

Fulton improves every week. Our secondary played lights out.

Aranda has returned to his rightful Demi-god status.

Jacoby Stevens!!!???

This was the result of a whole different mindset. We were not playing not to lose. We were playing to dominate and destroy them. CEO said at halftime that he wanted to keep the pressure on UGA and I think that we did an excellent job doing that.

Even Kirby Smart mentioned how Burrow continually made the right read/checked into the right plays for LSU.

JOE KNOWS football.

Imagine this team without Tracy or Joe Burrow. Seriously, switch them out for McMillan and Gonsulin (God bless ‘em) and where do you think we’d be? For getting these two alone O should get COY. Plus, is there anybody left who’d rather be running Canada’s offense?

We've finally evolved from the mindset of telling the QB 'you run the play called' (yes, under Les) to using the QB as the 'on-field OC'.

It took Burrow, a QB that not only can but excels at that, AND some evolution by E... and CEO.

Canada put alot on Etling, it scared CEO (and E). I THINK we've jumped the shark on that. It was holding us back earlier this year; improved, but still not fully utilizing what was on the field. I THINK we're past that now. The proof is in the pudding of an efficient and productive offense against #2 last night.

I imagine what happened is that CEO & E decided that to beat UGA we were going to have to 'be less risk adverse', and magically it makes for a good offense. Hopefully, lesson learned.

I said the exact same thing and said it right before that long completion to Jefferson in the 4th quarter. My friend was calling for Brennan and I turned around and told him Burrow had moxie and would make a big play. Then BOOM.

Then I continued to taunt him right up to the time Burrow ripped off that long run in the next series.

I said the same thing.

Great points. 6-1 feels really good but don’t mean shite if we don’t take care of Miss St.

Offensive cohesiveness was much better with Hines than Magee imo, Magee gave up early sack. Hate to harp on it but can't help but think how game would have played out with Hines instead of Magee against Florida.

Definitely the weakest link in the secondary. He had a rough day yesterday. It kind of worries me that Todd Harris or Jacoby Stevens can’t beat him out.

My thoughts exactly. It’s almost a bad thing that Cole Tracy is so automatic bc it feels like the offense gets super conservative and makes sure not to turn it over bc they know we can at least get 3. Not scoring TDs in the red zone will eventually bite us in the arse if we don’t improve on it soon.

I want to see a WildTiger package for him.

Prob the best option. Especially since we telegraph him getting the ball by only putting him on plays he is getting the ball. At least the wildcat is set up for that. May be a solution to our red zone problems.

Those two have incredible vision as well as patience. They anticipate the hole opening then bust it wide open. Brossette has cut back yesterday on stretch play that was beautiful. If Fournette and Guice has their vision, well that’s your all 99 level madden running back.

quote:

Their route running is their biggest weakness besides Jefferson. When Jefferson gets a CB on an island in man coverage there’s a good chance he’s going to get a big gain. The othe receivers just can’t seem to break free. I was impreshow well Sullivan and Marshall used their big bodies to shield off the defender on the slant routes. That’s next level stuff.

Everything else you said was spot on as well! Our coaches had the team prepared and called a great game. LSU wasn’t intimidated. They KNEW they were going to win. Blue hot!

There are few folks on here who can praise the team as well talk about areas that need improvement. But I’m sure some dickhead will be here shortly to screw it up.

Good posts in here. Just imagine who we can trample if:

WR's improve route mechanics and catch all passes. Like if the ball is within 4 feet of me I am catching it or drawing a flag because it is my job.

DB's cover tighter and know when the ball is coming. We got beat too many times, receivers wide open, not even counting the flea flicker.

D makes the first contact tackles they often miss. You can't arm tackle or expect to decleat by hitting high against the rest of our schedule.

Our intensity on D yesterday made up for missed tackles but a lot of UGA gains would have been losses if they made tackles that were missed.

TV commentators called some of burrows passes off target, but what I saw were passes where the receiver was supposed to be, and the receiver was not there.

I love the passes to Moreau and Carter. Both these dudes are animals and the TE and FB passes (and runs) are underused.

For the most part the above criticisms are of fundementals. Focus this week on fundamentals both sides of the ball. Destroy Miss State.
