Holy hell. That is great stat. The best part is, he’s only going to more and more autonomy over the on-field decisions the further we go.

Yup. Boy got them feet son! Straight up turned #2 legs to noodles on that long run!

#LSU OC Steve Ensminger's up-tempo offense is showing in the numbers.
The Tigers rank No. 2 in the SEC in total plays (504). That number ranks in the Top 10 nationally among Power 5 programs.

We cannot execute a screen pass. Hope we can fix that because it would be a useful play.
This needs best on their to-do list with an asterisk beside it. I’d like to see some WR screens as well. Kirklin would be hard to stop on s slip screen.
Somebody get Sean Peyton up here and show us the art of the screen.

Our running game success is the biggest surprise for me this year. We are running very successfully against good defenses.
The running game and secondary were my biggest concerns starting this season. Both have not only exceeded my expectations, but are two our biggest strengths.

This was the result of a whole different mindset. We were not playing not to lose. We were playing to dominate and destroy them. CEO said at halftime that he wanted to keep the pressure on UGA and I think that we did an excellent job doing that.
I see what you’re saying but we were dominating them and could continue to dominate them but just waiting a little longer to snap the ball. We weren’t going tempo at the time so I just don’t see the need in leaving around 2:00 on the clock with the lead we had and how effectively we were running the ball. But it worked just so fine so who am I to complain

I saw it as QB (and thus the entire offense) management offense. Burrow had rhythm, from booth to snap it was flowing nicely. He was making check downs, and reads. We even 'wasted' a timeout to stop him from going for it on 4th and 2.
So they reigned Burrow in a little bit. But I think it was a 100% conscious decision to let Burrow keep that rhythm rather than jerk on the leash too hard and go into a lull. Then benefits of keeping the pace and burning the clock via first downs (and FGs too btw) far outweighed the extra 12 sec per play we could've eaten.
So E decided, probably, just keep what doing what you're doing until it doesn't work. Don't fix what ain't broken. And yes, 1st downs eat more clock than anything. So as long as they kept coming, no reason to stop.
It's coincidental we got some chunk yardage there.

DB's cover tighter and know when the ball is coming
This. We were in position to make plays on the ball several times but our defender never had a clue the ball was there.
The long pass thrown on Greedy on our sidelines was bad. There is no reason a defender on there own side of the field bt the numbers and the sideline shouldn’t know the ball is in the air. Every LSU player and coach, hell, the fans in the stands should be screaming “ball”.

I didn’t think about keeping his rythym but that makes sense. Good point.
I trust joe to know himself and the team and he thought it may throw offense to slow down pre snap, I’m cool with it.

I had just said something like “bleed the clock” or something about the the time Burrow broke his big run And my friend said “you just keep bitching and let Joe handle this” lol

I thought the officials called a good game. They tried to stay out of the way (except for the one time the umpire stopped the GA drive by physically being in their way (even though he was where he should have been.. )

I will admit there was never a thought in my mind that we would or could beat UGA by 20. I did think that UGA was not quite as good as they were last year, but I was highly concerned with their running backs after seeing our D against UF.
Praise and Criticism
Firstly, that’s as good a game as I’ve seen us play in a long time. We did get some breaks go our way as far as UGA not quite executing some plays where we were beat. Even if they executed those plays, I’m still not sure it would have been enough for them to win and that says more about how well we played. At best, the game would have been much closer and more stressful to watch.
I thought the offensive tempo was beautiful mainly because of the confidence E has with Burrow’s ability to check into the right play. There was one time that it almost caught up with us and we had to burn a time-out WAY too early in the second half when Burrow ran up to the line to go for it on a fourth and 1.5-2 yds. I was not happy about needing to waste a TO there because I think it was still a 2 score game, and it appeared Burrow never even checked with the sideline for the decision., I could be wrong about that.
Also, I completely disagreed with going for it on 4th down on our side of the field when we got a VERY favorable spot after 9 ran out of bounds. We also got a favorable spot by CEH’s run. It worked out, but honestly, I think that was poor strategy. We were handily up in the game and a stop there would have unnecessarily provided not only emotional momentum to UGA, but also would have virtually guaranteed them at least a fg.
To me, this was the biggest gripe against coaching the entire game. Otherwise, there is zero doubt that O and crew outcoached Kirby. The other 4th down attempts I was happy with going for it.
If I was a fan of UGA I would seriously want to know what in the world the coaches were thinking by keeping the ball out of Holyfield’s hands. Seriously, WTF?!
I had PTSD from UF when I saw that kid running the ball. We had no answer for him, but I sure am glad UGA abandoned that idea.
As far as everyone ripping on Battle, I kind of feel like it’s a bit harsh. He’s doing a lot correctly if he’s starting, and in comparison with Delpit, Fulton, and Greedy whoever we put in there is likely not going to be as good as those guys either. Good teams are going to try and attack the weakest points, and there will always be a spot or two on our team that makes up that weak spot.
That being said, is it really that weak? I don’t think so. This is no 2011 or 2003 or 2006 defense, but it is more than adequate.
I am most pleased with the lack of penalties, the fact we didn’t look like we sleepwalked in the 3rd qtr, and just the overall execution of all phases of the game.
The area that needs the most work is, broken record, getting 6 instead of 3 when in the red zone, and run defense.
O being 7-0 after a loss is very impressive no matter how anyone tries to slice it.
It’s almost always a great day to be a Tiger, but yesterday and today are especially sweet.![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Icongeauxtigers.png)

I would want to know why wasn't their an entire series, at least, of both.
Putting fields in for 1 play, we would play it as wildcat without substituting (which means we practiced for it), is 'changing our defense'. The 1 play at a time thing (is that you Les and Shep?) did not threaten our defense.
A series where Fields and Holyfield were gashing us WITH a pass or two to loosen things up might have caused monumental adjustments on our side.

I agree with you, and that is simply poor coaching on their part. I would be livid if a UGA fan.

Shockingly, bc I was not at all a fan of O, this looks like a disciplined and well coached team.

Burrows is the game manager we need. Statistically not great, but very smart in his decision making and will continue to improve.
I think he’s good and getting better. With this level of QB play the past ten years, Miles would have another NC or two and still be coaching. This is what we’ve lacked for years.

Remember, this is related to the Athletic Director and dept. Joe...

How long have ya'll been there? Big group? We used to be in the same area but further up by Nicholson ext. Last couple of years we have bounced around now that our numbers have dwindled to nearly nothing.
