I loved the changeup last weekend. I think the big four need to be split up throughout the order to put more pressure on the pitchers.

The top 4 from what he had last week I wouldn’t change. Reid is an OBP magnet and having Cabrera behind him creates big inning opportunities. DiGiacomo at the end of the order is that second leadoff man that has worked wonders for Mainieri. There’s also power in every other hitter.

1. Watson CF (R)
2. Duplantis RF (L)
3. Beloso 1B (L)
4. Smith SS (L)
5. Reid 3B (L)
6. Cabrera LF (L)
7. Dugas 2B (R)
8. Garza C (R)
9. DiGiacomo DH (L)

I'd probably want Smith at 2 or 3 and Beloso at 4, but other than that, this lineup works.

ETA: The more at-bats Smith gets, the better

I have a feeling Dugas is going to rake. He has been waiting all season and watching Hughes and Broussard not get it done at the plate. Mess around too long and somebody’s gonna take your job.

I agree with this. Personally, I love an alternating RH-LH throughout the lineup. It makes it more difficult for a pitcher to get comfortable.

Some other thoughts:
a) I love Reid but if Bianco continues to hit I wouldn't mind seeing Bianco vs lefties
b) Similarly, I'm ok with Broussard and Gio platooning as DH. Also, love having one them available late game to pinch run.

The only thing I could possibly think to change is to flop Dups and Watson but I really don’t think it’s necessary

Your lineup looks good to me.

As far as starting pitching I’d start a right hander....

Nice Lineup! Bianco against leftys in DH role

Fri - Henry
Sat - Walker
Sun - Hill

Would be nice. Hilliard may have something to say about that

As for line up, id go...

1. Smith SS (L)
2. Watson CF (R)
3. Duplantis RF (L)
4. Cabrera LF (L)
5. Dugas 2B (R)
6. Beloso 1B (L)
7. Garza C (R)
8. Reid 3B (L)
9. DiGiacomo/Broussard DH

I like the idea of trying to break up some of the lefties in the line up and spread it out top to bottom. Reid gives you some good OBP in the back of the line up. DiGiacomo and Broussard give you that double lead off type of guy at the end. I could see flipping Beloso and Reid also.

Watson really had a 4-5 week tear when he was moved into the 2 hole early March before he got nicked up.

Dups lead off
Watson 2 hole

Dups needs the magic of the 2 hole spot right now
