Earlier in the year the D was getting their asses handed to them but the last two games they seem like they may have turned a corner, which would be kind of impressive with all of the injuries on that side of the ball. What are your thoughts?

Seems like he might be decent, don't want him here regardless. LSU deserves better.

It's time to clean house and start over from scratch
If new coach wants to interview current staff members, than that's fine but no coaches should be retained based on these meaningless games at the end, you have to evaluate the whole season

A marked improvement. I think he has what it takes to make it as a DC. I was never really down on him, though. If you look back in my comments, I've mentioned how our defense, although not great early on, kept us within striking distance of almost every game.

Hard to say how good he truly is based on the small sample size of the last two games. Makes you wonder what the defense would have looked like if O didn't meddle.

i like him. however, it's a shame that he just learned what a fricking blitz package could do for a defense.

I wouldn’t mind if he was retained although I doubt that will happen. He’s proven himself big time both with consistent progress (despite an absurd amount of injuries) and showing the ability to make adjustments.

I’m also a fan of his bourbon club.

Pisses me off it took four losses to start being aggressive. He needs to go along with the rest of the staff

That he should not have been hired as DC here, but he has a chance to develop into a solid DC

he's been learning on the job...LSU should never have a coordinator who needs to learn on the job

Uncertain.

I kind of feel bad for him in that it is CLEAR he did not get a chance to run his defense until the Alabama game. Instead, he was forced to run the nostalgia defense of his bonehead boss.

There is NO WAY you can convince me the current defense, which has looked like the second best defense in the SEC the last two weeks, was something Jones just conceived in the bye week. LSU's defense took a drastic downturn the MOMENT Ed Orgeron finally got to dictate the approach (he wisely stayed out of the way in 17-19). It took a drastic turn in the opposite direction the moment LSU stopped using that approach.

I’m 100% putting this on Coach O. He kept saying he wanted a simple defense to get rid of the constant confusion we saw last year. After he was fired, I believe he gave coordinators more freedom to what they wanted

Not good enough to force on a new coach

Only way he stays is his connection with Aranda

If he would have shown his balls from game 1 then O would still be coach, so I’m glad he/O sucked for a while
