A road game for both teams, but the 2011 Jerry’s World abuse of the Ducks was so gratifying.
Came here to say this. Stayed in a dump of a hotel but had a blast!

Some that stick out for us:
1998 at Notre Dame. Holy grail of football. Lost but fun game.
2002 at Virginia Tech. Fun time in Blacksburg. Mauck’s first full season as a starter but laid an egg.
2009 at Washington. UDub fans were in awe of how many LSU fans made the cross country trip and said it was more fans than they have seen for any PAC 12 foe. Tiger fans drank downtown Seattle dry.
2023 FSU in Orlando. Only here because we had about 20 of us drink the worlds at Epcot.
2024 USC in Vegas. We lost the game but won the party.
2025 at Clemson. Cool weekend in Greenville, Clemson was cool and we won an opening game!

1988 @ Ohio State. I was living in Baltimore at the time. And Columbus was the closest they'd be playing to me, so I made the drive over. Hell of a game. Thought we had it. Ended up losing 36-33

Did that game actually take place? I remember it wasn't available on TV or radio the day of the game, and no YouTube or other media exists of that game
Yes it did. I think it was Bill Arnspargers fourth game. LSU won 23-3 in the LA Coliseum, only points for USC were after a first quarter fumble by LSU

1. Clemson ‘25
2. UNC ‘10
3. TCU ‘14?
Not really a big neutral site guy so I stopped going to those unless it is a playoff game/SECCG.
Actually ‘19 OU would be tops but that was postseason.

I went to Vegas last year to see LSU vs USC. I had a great time, other than the game.

- 2011 WVU - that was as close to an LSU enviorment that I have been to at another stadium.
Stayed in Pittsburgh w friends, had the best pizza in my life, partied arse.
Gameday visited campus via the monorail...got inundated with crazy students who gave us 9 kinds of shite in a fun way. Rode back to the stadium in the monorail with a lively group of them who shared WV moonshine and some homegrown. Had a cloud escape when we opened the hatch to get out.
Tailgated with rabid WVU fans on top of a parking deck with a great view. They love LSU fans.
Would do it again.

Vandy was pretty sweet, easy win back in the day, a stadium that was 75% empty and then a good time out in Nashville.

Green Bay was awesome, until the game started
Agreed - going to Lambeau was a bucket list item - Jimmy Taylor was my Dad's favorite player and I wore a Jimmy Taylor LSU jersey and lots of the Wisconsin folks did not realize he played at LSU - they loved him up there.
Great experience all the way around until the game, went to Wrigley to watch the Cubs the next day. Easily may favorite non-SEC road game experience.

Green Bay was probably the best for me. I also enjoyed going to LV for the opener against USC and the trip to play UCLA in the Rose Bowl.

Went to the Iron bowl this year. My wife is an Auburn grad. It was an incredible experience, so much fun to go to a big game and not really care who wins.

LSU road games out of conference- Just bowls - not counting Sugar Bowls in Superdome as I live in suburban New Orleans. Peach Bowl in 1996, Texas Bowl in 2015. Both were underwhelming.
Non-LSU out-of-conference games - Been to two bowls for my grad school alma mater (Georgia Tech) - Independence Bowl in 2010, and Birmingham Bowl last year. They lost both and the weather was crappy.
Probably my two favorite out-of-conference road football game experiences were:
1. Day trip up to Hattiesburg to see USM play Lamar, November 28, 1981 when I was 17. Half of my family went to USM, and at the time my dad and stepmother lived within walking distance of the stadium and got together pre-game with my extended family; we all went to the game. That year USM went 9-2-1 in Bobby Collin's last year before leaving for SMU. It was a beautiful fall afternoon; the stadium was rocking, and the Golden Eagles won their season finale handily. Just a great experience all around.
2. A few years ago in 2021 I noticed that I had seen every SEC team (past and present) play football in person EXCEPT ONE-- Sewanee, The University of the South. Well, that year they were playing Millsaps in Jackson on the Halloween-time LSU bye week, so I took a li'l road trip up to Jackson to watch the game -- a NCAA Division III / Southern Athletic Association match-up. It was an overcast, very chilly day early on, so much so I had to stop at Walmart on the way up to buy a cheap sweater. But the sun came out later and it turned out to be another nice fall afternoon for football. The stadium was tiny; smaller than a lot of high school football stadiums, and the crowd was pretty small, too. But there was something quaint about the whole experience, and walking around the cozy campus during halftime. And on the way back, I stopped off at the Lynyrd Skynyrd crash site memorial just a few miles off of I-55. Fun day all around.
