Could Sloan and Hankton continue in that role into next season? Pros and cons?

If more than one person is in charge, then no one is in charge.

Nothing like two people doing the job of one while also coaching a position. Remind us how co-coordinators have gone for LSU in the past?

Someone has to call the plays and eberyone knows that person is the actual OC. There is nothing wrong if one guy is older and more established that other co-OC is younger and up and coming. But if both are young up and comers like Sloan and Hankton, they won't want to take a back seat to the other.

You also run into the issue where on e guy calling plays will either be afraid to take chances or take too many chances for fear of losing play calling abilities to the other OC. Its alot easier to remove play calling duties from one guy when there is another guy with the same job title.

IMO, co-OCs only work if both guys are content in their role and that is hard to come by.

Nothing really, it is just a matter of delineating what is expected from each individual and how play-calling duties will work.

2014 Ohio State & 2016 Clemson won Natties with co-offensive coordinators.

Pros and cons?

Here are a few things I can think of, they may be off base, thoug.:

Pros are having multiple perspectives on plays and sharing certain workloads as well as potentially keeping young talented coaches in this case.

Cons are friction with playcalling, disagreements on personnel, and potentially wasted effort duplicating tasks.

In everything but title, they were.

But

E doesn’t get NEAR the credit he deserves for that 2019 offense

co-anything is bad. There has to be one guy in charge. Of course, there's support staff to advise and help, but one guy needs to be the guy.

Went down a short rabbit hole. Sice the advent of the CFP here are the teams that have won with a co-coordinator listed on either side of the ball. I was surprised to find that only two teams do not have one listed, 2015 Alabama and 2019 LSU

2014 Ohio State Co-OC & Co-DC
2016 Clemson Co-OC
2017 Alabama Co-OC & Co-DC
2018 Clemson Co-OC
2020 Alabama Co-DC
2021 Georgia Co-DC
2022 Georgia Co-DC

Semantics and the one that was is never given any credit. Brady designed, Ensminger called. About as Co as you can get.
