I agree. The people who live on this board are upset.

He’s trying to hit a home run every play like he did in high school. Once the game slows down and stops trying to juke everyone all the time he’ll be g2g

He looked better vs Utah State and was decisive to the hole

We didn’t give him much to work with against Miss Stars no holes and he was getting contacted in the backfield

If he was just putting his head down and running into a jammed up OLine people would be questioning his vision

THIS
They tried to set up the screen for him in the Florida game.
He was not where he was supposed to be.
They yanked him and he never got back in the game.

Offense is a LOT more complex, and demands more of the running backs then before.

From my observations he runs in the backfield too long.

Davis-Price is proving to be a better 2nd option at this point.

Looked like State knew exactly what plays we run when he is in the game.He needs to learn the offense.

yep. Not only was he out of position, but he was blocking instead of being ready to receive the pass. Almost got our Heisman leading QB killed.

That's a bridge (and risk) too far. Not to mention, they did it specifically for him, and he screwed the pooch. A fumble doesn't help either.

He's not really in the doghouse. But now the bar to prove he's got assignments down just got raised enough it is going to limit him. He needs some side quality time with T-Rob to both get it down and convince E & Orgeron he's where he needs to be. Without that extra time and effort he will remain limited in his role. He's got to earn it even more now.

There is no fricking story with Emery. He does not fully understand pass protection at the college level and in our offense is protecting Joe fricking Burrow is the name of the game.

When we do run it with him, he dances because he still used to high school level athletes.

My suspicion is that he will end up being really good. However, some people adjust to the college game faster. I am so tired of these fricking threads every week.

It's pretty simple.

We had two highly rated freshman come in at the same time.

One adapted to the offense faster than the other and it is showing now.

With Helaire as the clear lead back and Price showing up as the #2, Burrow is sorta like the #3 getting a few carries a game.

This offense is balanced to the point that we run the ball barely 33 times per game on average. If your top back gets about 15, your backup about 6-8, and your QB gets about 4-5 carries, there's only about 2-5 carries per game left.

Unless we get up big, we aren't going to run the ball enough for a #3 RB to get enough carries.

He can’t dance around and outrun the defense like he could in high school. If he gets in the open, he is dangerous, He just hasn’t figured that out yet.

Watch out when he does though. He is still a true freshman. Not everyone catches on right away.

Freshman RB that needs to get better on blocking and decisive running. Price has figured it out, so will Emory. Give him time, he ll be fine.

He has the most negative rushes on the team. He hasn’t been consistent. He’s dangerous in space. He will get better and better.

He’s gonna be really good. He is a freshmen. He has to learn the play book and play at this level. To not go the wrong way. To pick up blitzes

But look at Davis-Price, he is now running as the 2nd string back, ahead of Curry, and that is a remarkable feat. And he looks good.

He sure does.

That dude runs like Earl Campbell.

Nope. You must not have seen Earl run. He was the most powerful back I’ve seen in over a half century of watching.

He's had 29 carries for 115 yards. He's had some nice runs, a 21-yarder and 2 TDs. He's going to be great.

But, for what we're doing right now, Ty is a better change up from CEH.

And, Emery, whom I already refer to as "Superstar" needs to learn the whole playbook and block better. CEH was green as a freshman and got better quickly. Emery will, too, and will be a beast later this season or next.
