What's the rants honest thoughts on Vitello?

Before this weekend I saw a lot of positive comments. It looked like the majority of the rant would love the hire.
During the weekend after he threw many bitch fits, the comments seemed to be pretty negative and the majority looked like we didn't want Vitello.
After the series, it seems to be 50/50. Half the rant seems to respect that he is a very good coach and the other half seems to think he's a disrespectful cocky arse hat.
Personally, I would love the hire. He checks a lot of boxes for what I think LSU needs at this point. A young high energy coach that finds ways to motivate young adults. Yes, he does have some characteristics that make him seem unprofessional. However, I think the brand at LSU will help mold him into a more professional type manager.

Whiny bitch. Not mature enough for a job like LSU. His methods may work at upstart Tennessee, but his antics will get old quickly. Let’s see how handles continued success. It is real easy to coach with a underdog or never been there mentality. It is easier to coach as the hunter and not the hunted.
Also, Bill Franques was openly complaining about this guy during the radio broadcast...at one point during his antics stating “this guy is unbelievable”. Bill has a tremendous amount of respect in that department and to have that opinion speaks volumes about Vitello getting the job.

Do you think all the other volumes that have been posted about him are dishonest?

Honestly want to see him take a screaming line drive to the kisser

If he was whining his arse off in a purple and gold jersey, y'all would love him.
Did you love the skip animations in the early 90s?

Alabama football will never hire Lane Kiffin to be head coach just like LSU baseball will never hire Tony Vitello to be head coach.

Lol, Kiffin & Vitellos careers are not similar at this point. Yes they both come off as whinny bitches, but to say Vitello is the Kiffin of Football as this stage in his career is inaccurate.

That’s not what I’m saying. Just saying there is a prestige and professionalism that comes with both of those positions (as there should be) and a coach who is perceived as immature is not going to hired by either.

I think if you've read the comments people, myself included, have made about him, you already have your answer.
It's divided. I personally had him as my number one choice before, but find myself not really liking the guy. However, liking the next coach is not something I consider a prerequisite for being a good candidate. I would hope that if he comes here (which seems unlikely, at the moment), he'll grow up and act more like an adult rather than a pretentious gym trainer type.

I’ve never seen a coach whine and complain throughout a game as Vitello did and it was the same with his players. Any time they took a strike without swinging they would drop their heads or shake their heads.
Personally, I’d rather not have a huge titty baby as a head coach and watch our players behave like the Vols players did this past weekend.
If you coach your team well enough, there is no need to whine and cry about every call. You just go out and dominate and let your game speak for itself on the field.
You will not achieve that with Vitello.

He fits well with the obnoxious hillbillies. Should stay there.

That seems to be the consensus.
I spoke with someone who has been close to both LSU & TN programs and he said Vitello doesn't have the stature or maturity to be LSU's head coach.

If he has LSU gear on y’all would love him. And what’s up with all the disrespect and professional bullshite. You’re a bitch if you think tony is disrespectful. Dude has passion and enthusiasm. Something we lack. Dude just blanked us 5-0 this year I’m sure he doesn’t care what fans think! This is the same fan base that tigerbait anyone and start singing sttdb ????????. Man up bitches tony is the man. I hope he’s our coach and bring that fire and ready to die for our boys attitude

I think he's a good fit for the university of Tennessee. He may not translate well to Louisiana State U, but thankfully I don't have to make that decision.

I find this whole argument hilarious.
On one hand you have Vitello who stands up for his team every chance he gets and doesn’t care how that comes across. Yet when PM called his team and the fans classless back in March he took the high road and avoided punching back. You had PM being a bitch and complaining and Vitello looking like the mature coach.
On the other you have PM who is known for throwing kids under the bus and rarely, if ever, getting tossed to defend his team. I think it happened once this year and it may have only been the second time in his career at LSU. He’s been criticized often for his lack of emotion during big moments as if he just rolls over and takes it. Of course, you also have the gif of him hoping around home plate on one of those rare occasions.
Vitello fights for his team when he needs to. He takes the high road when he needs to. His players and the fans love him and that passion. They’ll run through walls for him. Their words not mine. Yes, it’s very different from PM but that’s exactly what you want here.

I mean In fairness Nick Saban is a whinny bitch. Guess if Vitello can get us to the World Series and a title, we could live with as any school does with a whinny bitch of a coach.

If he were our coach, and winning, we would tolerate him. We've never had anyone who acts like he does. I thought Saban was a jerk when he was here, but he was successful, so I naturally wanted him to stay. Vitello is on another level of bad attitude. But I'll take him if he comes, because I think he can coach. He should, however, grow the heck up.
It's not just him complaining. He went and started an argument with Dave Van Horn after Arkansas had just beaten his team to take the series. The head of a program can't be setting that kind of example. Whatever beef he had should have been settled somewhere private. He just acts like a very insecure person who has to find something to be angry about, to project some tough guy image.
He'll need to change that to get where he wants to go.

Vitello is a great recruiter and really good coach. He does come off during games as a bit whiny but that’s probably what LSU needs right now.
