The minimum is 27 but more likely 28. He’s a 9 to 10 win coach that won’t make the playoffs but will win some shitty irrelevant bowl game every year. The tigers will constantly finish the rankings 15-20 every year under Kelly. Which will keep Woody saying “ Brian is building a strong program “ or some similar to that bull shite line

Yea he should have seen the writing on the wall with this offensive playcalling after what happened at A&M. Think we need a more balanced approach. This was the game to mix it up and we all just got more of the same. We absolutely cannot justify paying this much money for the product on the field. There should be some sort of contract clause based on performance but I don’t really give a shite about $ now. Collectivelty the coaches themselves could

…bargain into an NIL deal themselves outside of university payroll.

And if/when this happens, what proven prospective candidates are out there who would seriously take the job? The only young up and coming, somewhat proven HC that would excite me is Lanning. And zero percent he'd leave Oregon, he already shunned the Bama job.

If he cannot figure out how to get two good coordinators at the same time, he won’t last past the end of the 26 season. The 39 on the roster excuse is getting really old, especially in the NIL and portal era.

It depends.

If we lose another game or two this year his seat will be fairly warm.

He follows that up next year with 4+ losses I wouldn’t be shocked if his seat is on fire. At that point it could be post 2025 regular season or after a couple losses in 2026.

If he closes out 9-3 and gets to 9-3 or better next year I think the seat will still be slightly warm but there will be a lot of eye balls on 2026.

He'll voluntarily retire, before he's fired.

He'll realize that he's in over his head at LSU and get the hell out of Dodge.

It will happen sooner than expected too............

3 more years. 25,26,27 no playoffs he would be fired. Lsu would be losing money keeping him at that point.

Keep losing games like that in Tiger Stadium and he could be fired next year. People won't put up with it.

Why on earth would he retire? He has the best pension plan in college football. $9.5m per year, with 90% of that guaranteed, and he's still another seven years left after this season.

He'll keep winning at least eight, usually at least nine and occasionally ten regular season games, but not the natty. And by the middle of the 2027 year it will become clear that it's not going to get any better and by the end of the 2027 season he'll get his pink slip.

You'll then have the choice of either paying him 90% of $9.5m for the remaining four years, presumably in monthly instalments, or negotiate a smaller total amount that gets paid up front. By that stage I should imagine that will be more manageable.

We didn't give coach 6 years after winning the NC.
We gave him 2.

2027 is the answer unless we go like 4-8 next year which we won't.

How about this scenario: LSU loses either to Florida or Vanderbilt and blows out the Sooners for the final game to end the season 8-4. People will say, hey, Kelly finished strong. He's on the right path.

Won't ever be fired, will step down at some point. Will happen in the next few years too, unless he is able to win some big games
