I liked what I saw last year with Ridley and felt like he would be a contributor this year as well. I hate to hear that he is out maybe for the season. College football is fickled with the possibilities of injuries changing the entire complexion of a season. Can a hard runner like Ridley come back after an ACL injury to his former self? We have seen that some do and some don't. Let's hope that he has what it takes to overcome.

Enlighten me, please. A lot of talk about Miles this and Miles that on offense issues. Doesn't Crowton have any say so in matters? I would think if a running back was hot, Crowton, if he is worth his salt, would capitalize (in a tactful manner) on that fact, rather than play the maturity card. It bothers me that this thread has not addressed that.

Even though we lost the game... out of all of his play I was most impressed when he hung on to Julio on the 3 yard line first play of overtime.

I mean something about that hold on for dear life spoke to me...

when was the last time under miles that we used a back under 215 as our main back?

When was the last time we had this much speed on offense? I think our offense is evolving into something different than what is traditionally Les Miles.

just stating that it isnt unheard of for LSU to play the best player regardless of age. Maybe not as much in the LM era. And that a young back can be just as effective.

i think he was. remember ot vs kentucky. Scott short of the 1st. i know its one play. Hester was money on plays like that. we also had a better qb which took carries out of his hands. if hester were here last year he would had 1250 yards in my opinion.

I just think before the injury, Richard Murphy was still ahead of Ridley.

it's kind of 2 different positions

big back: scott, ridley

speed back: keiland, murphy

we don't go to OT if scott gets the ball in teh 2nd half

scott not playing v UK is the best example of NOT playing the "hot hand" or best player

We also don't know the circumstances for why Scott wasn't played. Miles doesn't determine who goes on the field most of the time. It's the RB coach who decides that I think

people are acting like that last play at kentucky, there was some huge gaping hole to run through.

another LSU player missed his block.

they would have tackled hester just like they tackled scott.

a different play call would probably have been a better idea.

LSU ran what.. 4 straight times off tackle?

Yes, exactly. It would not have mattered who we put in. It was just a bad sequence of plays

So with the game on the line you take Scott over Hester in short yardage. Smart.
Noone who makes that many 4th and short or 4th and goal are gonna be 100 %. Have you actually seen a football game. But, Hester #'s were much better than average.
