I believe Alabama will be good but beatable this next season. They are losing 9 starters on defense, so they will be reloading. From what I hear, they have defensive talent to build upon, but unproven. They have basically the same offense coming back, but they can be stopped. Everyone will be shooting at them. It will come down to mental preparation by Saban and coaches.

Arkansas is dark horse to watch out for in the west. If they get some kind of defense (which they were short on last year), the west will be wild again. I see a good year for LSU. We will be in the hunt for the west and SEC titles. We may lose 1 game along the way.
I was a Stadium Rat from '65 to '69. West, North, and South sections. Wasn't too bad then if you could do without A/C. Didn't know there was asbestos all over, but who would have thought about it back them. Lot of good stories in that old place. Wonder it did not ever burn down with all of the silver salutes, cherry bombs, and M80's that were detonated in there.

You could not access the stadium from the dorms due to fences and concrete block walls. Since student ID's gave us access to the games, I never heard of anyone even trying to sneak through, if it could have been done.
What Miles did in the Chick-fil-A bowl was the correct way to dominate. When you are ahead you do not call off the dogs until the other says "Uncle!" The GT coach was still trying to win in the 4Q, so keep the pressure up. The fake punt and the long TD pass was all legit as far as I was concerned.
We should see the defense dominate, since the playbook will probably be limited. Seeing the same offensive sets and players should help the timing for the defense. I would suspect there will be some offensive gems scattered in the mix, but not in a sustained way. Fairly low scoring if the defense can avoid bombs and big plays like we had last season.
Okay, guys. What about this? If our piss-poor defense from last year can set the woods on fire this next year with essentially the same personnel, why can't JL be capable of doing the same? I say give them both a fighting chance. :dude:

I think this goes for all of us silent but daily readers of Dandy Don's Tiger news. Thank you for your continued effort.

From the looks of your avatar, you're the one that should be in the porn business.

I just hope both of us are undefeated when we beat your butts next fall. It would remind me of the late fifties, early sixties. Classic games........

If he can keep working without playing, he will come back. It is a bitter pill to swallow. The mental part is the hardest.

So much of rehab depends on the individual's motives and work ethics. If he wants to play, and shows LM he can go, and if he is needed, it could happen a few games into this next season.

I believe that is what "both majority's" really want and could care less whether he has stripes or polka-dots (as long as they are purple & gold).

No truer words to be said. The team is purple and gold. :dude:
Sounds like the D coaches are firing the players up and giving them an attitude. Chavis sounds like he is going to hold the high ground and let the offense come to him. I like that kind of swagger. :dude:
We will get to round 2. Memphis will win it all.
I liked what I saw last year with Ridley and felt like he would be a contributor this year as well. I hate to hear that he is out maybe for the season. College football is fickled with the possibilities of injuries changing the entire complexion of a season. Can a hard runner like Ridley come back after an ACL injury to his former self? We have seen that some do and some don't. Let's hope that he has what it takes to overcome.

Enlighten me, please. A lot of talk about Miles this and Miles that on offense issues. Doesn't Crowton have any say so in matters? I would think if a running back was hot, Crowton, if he is worth his salt, would capitalize (in a tactful manner) on that fact, rather than play the maturity card. It bothers me that this thread has not addressed that.
Thanks, Pompous. We needed that assurance. He's just one guy and we probably won't face him this next year at all. We'll let you and Auburn take care of business against UT for us.

according to the schedule, there are no more spring practice sessions in 2009 after April 18th for LSU. NCAA restrictions.

The spring game is the 18th, therefore practices after that = zero.
Just going by the defensive posture from the talking heads. Since when do we throw scruples out the window? It has to be rationalized that we are above the rest, and are not accountable.

re: Bama was not truthful to recruits

The sick thing to me is that the infractions involve some authority in the school system that condones unethical behavior of its gifted athletes. Some how rationalizing that we're BAMA, so screw playing by the rules. This just promotes the hand-out mentality that is prevalent in many areas of our society. May seem like a small thing, but it is a cancer that grows. :yack:
I agree. Buy the general admission. Get to the game early so you can be to the east of the edge of the third base dugout. To the west of that line, the sun stays with you until about 6:30 PM. GA seating is pretty comfortable and with good vision. GA seating also lets you sit with the Tiger fans, which are by far the most fun to be around. They really have a good time.
