I disagree, he needs the reps with the #1's if he can get them, and certainly the #2's.

Yea thats bull. Murphy has a better chance to see the field playing RB, where hes been all along. If he gets moved, who's gonna play RB next year, especially with Ridley being down?

I feel the same as you about the situation as far as the team is concerned.

The worse part is for Ridley himself, because who knows how this will affect him long term.

csand12, there were several practice reports on TOS that 'suggested' that Ridley would be playing alot of downs as the fullback. A Hester-type fullback, very versatile, not just a blocker. This is why most think he would have been playing a good bit....

Ok yeah, fullback is right. However, people earlier in the thread were indicating that he would be splitting time with Scott at RB, which I do not think would have happened. I think people are exaggerating how much this will impact the team. Yes its always bad when someone gets hurt and it sucks for them but we have SO many capable back ups. Would you say the same things if Keiland got hurt during the season? I'd hope that you would because to me he is much more valuable at this point in time. Ridley may improve and become more valuable to us over time but he just hasn't had enough playing time yet to merit all of these opinions of greatness about him. And maybe he showed flashes of brilliance last year but remember, his only action was against Appy State, North Texas, and Tulane. He had good time against Tulane, but seriously. Tulane's run defense was TERRIBLE last year. Hardly enough of an achievement to merit a starting role.

We dont know how long it will take Ridley to get back to form. Ford yes, but he will be unexperienced. We dont know who we will sign, so I wouldnt put any eggs in that basket, when we have Murphy. Murphy CANNOT move to WR.

He doesn't have to be. He's a speed back and who knows what the offense is really gonna look like the next few years since we seem to be recruiting a lot of speed guys, especially with Sheppard and Jefferson at the helm. We may be seeing a lot more option which Murphy is not bad at, but does need practice.

He tried to hurdle the guy from Ohio State...

I expected him to be heavier this spring... haven't seen any pics or physical stats though.

I was responding to someone that said Murphy will move to WR....Hence, if he moves.....who will play RB???? I have not forgotten Murphy. Im making the point that we clearly still need him at RB!

Ahhhh, I think we all thought you meant if Ridley moved or something who would play RB. Misunderstanding.

Hopefully he stays at RB and they try the wheel route to him more.

That play had potential, but they seldom ran it after it was defensed once during the game.

In other words, Scott up the gut doesn't work everytime... but they still run it.

Nope. Im on the Murphy bandwagon. He and Ridley should compliment each other nicely next year.
