agree which makes me wonder why he won't let guys like Larson get the runs on midweek. You can't get better without ABs...hell even the freshman should be getting ABs midweek.

Yup. And, if he were hit by a bus, Pearson would take that spot.

Yup, and if he were hit by a bus, Brown would take that spot.

Pearson hit two bombs last night.

Brown has been on fire at times. He's hitting really well.

Yup. And, if something happened to one of them, the other would take over.

Frey has been on of our better hitters, on a team that is full of good hitters.

Yup. And, Brown or Pearson would DH if something happened to him.

Larson is the 3rd option at every OF spot and at DH.

Didn't he bat like .150 in fall practice?

I would give Larson a start in the midweek if we have someone banged up or just someone needing a break

Disagreed

Stanfield is a pull only hitter who could improve his stock with another season of hitting under Jay

Frey has limited defensive film. You don’t leave to become a draft able DH

Started the season off pretty good but the musical chairs at the beginning of the season seemed to make him press.

But…Pearson is batting like .212 in the SEC and Brown is at .270 something and falling. I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets another chance soon. I don’t think the book is closed on him for this season. Whether he takes advantage of his next opportunity or not is another story.

I actually could see him coming back. Stanfield and Frey are juniors making him next man up.

Obviously it’s way more common for kids to transfer but you never know

one inning and one at bat...I mean maybe let him work on his timing and play a whole game?

I guess you missed the oppo rbi double Stanfield hit in either game 1 or 2 against Oklahoma

No I didn’t miss it. It was an inside pitch he was late on and put an inside out swing on it. Learn baseball and the art of hitting.

I hope jay can find a way to get him some more ABs so he can be a viable PH option late in season or play spot duty if there is an injury.

Real shame the kid is caught up in a numbers game.

Assuming Bear goes pro, if Stanfield doesn’t come back, could Frey come back & play 1B with Larson in either RF or LF?

He showed last year he has talent, hope he’ll be patient & give it another shot here next year.

Next year’s team would benefit from a guy like Larson with experience.

My guess is he goes home to K-State.

I said it a couple weeks ago: Ashton is a victim of this team having an embarrassment of riches. He can’t crack the lineup, and thus, play himself into more playing time.

Maybe he’ll play some sort of a key role down the stretch, but right now, he’s odd man out.
