What’s the deal with Larson? Does he not get another start this season?

I get the question over who. Lot of banner seasons going on. But, his talent seems such a waste. I just hate it for the kid! But, that’s baseball.

Just too many guys
Obviously Curiel can't come out of the lineup. Stanfields defense is amazing and now he's hitting the ball, I think he has 4 doubles in this series. Pearson left the yard last night twice and is one of the most clutch hitters to come through LSU this millennium not to mention Jake Brown.
It's unfortunate because Larson is a stud but right now he's just behind better dudes.
I think if Frey struggles (I know he's been on fire except last night) then you could see Pearson to DH and Larson get some PT.
But right now it looks like the lineups are pretty locked in except 3rd base between Braswell and Tanner

Start Larson where, and over who?
Curiel is not coming out of the lineup.
Stanfield is not coming out of the lineup.
Frey has been on of our better hitters, on a team that is full of good hitters.
Pearson hit two bombs last night.
Brown has been on fire at times. He's hitting really well.
Even if we could play 4 OFers, like T-ball Larson still wouldn't have a spot. He will either fight this off season and improve for next year, or he will transfer. But for him to play this season 2 guys will have to go ice cold, and he will have to be red hot in his limited opportunities.

I don’t see him having a spot next year either. All things the same and Stanfield possibly coming back for Sr year, has the same outfield next year. Larson was Cape Cod player of the year so we know he can play and we saw flashes of it last year, but in limited opportunities this year he has looked really bad. Some kids need consistent at bats to get in a rhythm and he’s just not gonna get that this year. I have a feeling he’s going to take a fl from Paxton Kling and go light it up for some lesser D1 school.

Doesn’t look good at this point. Curiel and Stanford are locked in and I think you continue to see a rotation between Pearson, Frey, and Brown at RF & DH depending on matchups and whoever is hot.

This is the 'downside' to having a loaded roster like this. Larson had an amazing game in the opening series 3-4, 2B, HR, 5RBIs and didn't start the following three games. Unfortunately that stuff can get in a players head and they begin to press when they do get chances. Larson hasn't forgotten how to hit, but he's been bad at the plate in the few chances he's had. Brown is batting .341 overall and .310 in conference. Hard to sit him for Larson right now.

Pearson is gone. Stanfield and Frey could very well be gone. That's 3 of the 5 people standing in his way potentially not on LSU's roster.

Larson would have offers from big time programs if he transfered.

My bad man you’re right. I forgot Ethan was a junior. I don’t see Stanfield leaving, but the door does open a bit wider for Larson with Frey having a banner year and cashing in on it in the draft.

Lots of games left. Others will slump and he will come in. The great thing about depth is it keeps the team out of slumps when individuals go cold

Larson is going to end up at an SEC school and kill it

It’s pretty astonishing he’s not getting more opportunities
If you had asked most baseball fans at the start of the season they would’ve told you he and Milam were 1A and 1B in terms of young every-day stalwarts in the lineup

He doesn't quite get the same opportunities to play consistently like some others do, even when they play poorly. He should should one of the returning OF'ers next year before they bring in more transfers, as they will not have a ton of OF returning.
Stanfield / Frey - Draft
Pearson - eligibility
Before accepting transfers:
LF Larson
CF Curiel
RF Brown

A positive could be he may be able to redshirt this year?
It seems odd with everyone Jay has plugged and played that Larson is simply on the bench and nothing since early on. Didnt he do well on his summer team, like the league mvp? What happened?

Nothing wrong with Larson.
Curiel is gonna end his LSU career as the best player to have ever played here and that’s just an unfortunate situation for Larson.
That puts Larson with only one spot he can possibly see time at and there’s a log jam for that spot.

And then I wish there was a way to get Arrambide more ABs, but not at the expense of Hernandez.
Such a loaded lineup.

I think Frey should get the day off. He was not himself at the plate.
Let him come back in the midweek game
