Sometime in the early 80s LSU alum/legislators realized what was going on and got the legislature to strip ULL of it's PHd program in computer science and give it to LSU.

You got a link to that or is it just story your Dad told you when you asked why he hates LSU?

You know that LSU Vet school? Guess where it was first? You guessed it. SLI. And, of course, our banana republic state legislature decided to strip it.

Just amazing how the majority of LSU fans never, ever stepped foot on the campus, or enrolled at LSU.

This is totally not true.

Yea and all ULL fans are angels.

4. LSU gets 1/3 or all state funding for Universities, The rest gets 2/3, funding is not distributed equally, we have scrap by, while LSU squanders millions.

5. To many Universities within the state, and I think it’s directly involves LSU, and for good reason it keeps the Universities fighting amongst themselves for funding, and it keeps each University athletic programs in check.

6 not allowing student fees, to go towards athletics.

It all boils down to this, University system will never be successful, because that is the system, and it needs to be reformed, but I think LSU wants it that way because it’s sole purpose is to keep LSU number one in the state.

Sounds like every time your university falls short you blame big bad LSU

Sounds like a lot of corruption going on within the system itself and this state, and LSU is part of it. Not saying doesn’t look nice it just has this certain Latino vibe I don’t care for!

What does that link prove? Where does it say LSU nixed the program or stole it from ULL? Sounds like a bunch of ULL people were butt hurt about having the LSU name on the school.

ULL fans = Texas A&M fans. Always blame someone else
(LSU, UT) when things don't go your way.

Where is truth? You gave your freaking opinion which was a bunch of conspiracy theories about LSU keeping the little man down.

LSU has been ranked by many publications as one of the prettiest campuses. Let me know when ULL makes these lists.

It's really not difficult to understand. It's basic penis envy.

Louisiana Tech has it too.

Both have aspirations of bigger things that will never happen in the current framework of college athletics. ULM, SLU, McNeese, NSU don't have those aspirations.

Who are you to say it's not fair that LSU gets more money?
They are the flagship university of the state

You don't think A&M and UT get more money than Texas State or UGA gets more than Georgia State?

You really should be mad that everyone feels they have to have a 4 year university in every corner of the state.
And that's not LSU's fault
Close or combine a few of those and ULL funding goes way up.

Your opinions would carry more weight if you were able to write above a fifth grade level. As for LSU's campus, it was designed by the same firm that designed Stanford. You're obviously too ignorant to know or understand much about the buildings on LSU's campus, so I will tell you that the architectural style is Northern Italian Renaissance with pantile roofs, archways, and stucco walls along with arches and towers.

What is the architectural style that UL-Lafayette used on its campus? Please enlighten us.

You think the state and LSU wants that they will do everything to prevent that.

I don’t dislike LSU, but there are certain things I don’t like I will support my University. I am not a bandwagon fan like most are.

Prove to me where anyone associated with LSU has blocked other schools from being closed? Suno closing was blocked by the black causcus. If they tried to close Nicholls, then Thibodaux people would be mad, same with NSU

You don't think LSU would want to close LSUA or E? But some legislator from Eunice or Alexandria would block it.

From my perspective, it seems there is a vocal portion of both fan bases show there own shortcomings.

UL Lafayette fans often have a little brother complex, understandable really. LSU is an athletic powerhouse, an elite in multiple sports, specifically the premier sport of football. ULL has struggled in football, in general and only competitive in 2 sports on a year to year basis, baseball and softball, and really only on par in softball.

LSU fan’s I find less understandable. They seem to suffer from the insecure big brother thing. LSU is clearly the better school, both acedemically (taken on the whole) and athletically. No need to point it out to little brother, they know. Yet some act like they fear little brother may outshine them. Why?

But the fact is, most of this is by a few fans on both side, not most, in my opinion. Though it seems there is a larger contingency of ULL fans, probably also understandable, little brother and all.

I wish both sides would just quit.

FTR, I attended LSU in my freshman year and loved it. Life and a lack of focus pushed me back to USL where I got my degree. I did also love my time at USL, particularly the engineering instructor (my favorites had PHDs from LSU, coincidentally). My son is now a student at LSU, having inherited my love for LSU.

The way some of their fans act is absurd. Esp in baseball you'd think they'd been to CWS every year the way the talk about their team. Most years they cant even win their own conference the Fun-belt.

Well this is how you got to think! Between LaTech and Louisiana, we are trying to become the 2nd dominant school in the state, so is LaTech, Academically, and Athletically. Will it be like Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, or Auburn probably not, but the focus will be on Academics and Athletics to get better. The second Tier schools will always strive to be better. Both Universities have tried to pull ahead, and have taken different paths to get there. Will do anything to get there.

Think all this rebuilding baseball, softball stadiums renovating the Cajun Dome, expanding Cajun Field, and building a brand new Athletic Complex, with brand new Weight Rooms, and Indoor Practice facility. Also paying our new football coach 1.2 million a year just to stay where we are at?
