What’s frustrating is LSU “won” the 2nd half 17-8

If the offense (mainly Leavitt) could have been even half decent and kept that score tied at half time, I feel LSU would have gotten the job done.
But alas, if’s and could’s don’t matter. We came out flat, similar to LA Tech, and a better team took advantage of it.

We had an absolute shite defensive gameplan in the first half. If we would have put pressure on Chambliss in the first half like we did all 2nd half (except the 2nd half drive OM scored on because Baker went back to not pressuring Chambliss) then OM wouldn’t have had 24 pts .

LSU had to shut them out the second half and we all knew Chambliss would have at least one drive in the 2nd half.We lost that game by halftime.

The QB made bad throws in the 2nd half. He missed wide open receivers multiple times.

2nd half showed good adjustments.
But in my opinion, that first half was unacceptable. So, so bad on both sides of the ball.

And only got 3 points with last 2 drives inside the 5. They have to work on red zone inside the 5. We were terrible against Tech in that situation too.

That last Ole Miss TD at the end of the 1st half really stung. Wished we could have held them to a FG.

That was big and then also that silliness on third down inside the 3 yard line where they put CLARK in and then proceeded to do the running back up the middle

I been trying to tell people that since last night. If we had just managed one more decent 4 min TD drive we go on at 14-17 at the worst simply because we take clock time away from OM.

What stuck in my head was the missed opportunity in the first Ole Miss offensive series, when the lateral got booted back to the 6. If our D fights harder, and gets that ball, the TD for LSU is next, and we take the crowd out…..and possibly put their team into a different state of mind.
However, we allowed them to stop the LSU offense and force a punt, thus only giving energy to their belief that they would win. Our ineptitude and effort on offense in the 1H was inexcusable.

Baker's soft coverage on the 3rd downs in first half basically gave them free points and got our defense really tired in the 4th.
