What’s an acceptable record for the McMen on the board?

Is it too much to ask be atleast .500 in year 2?? Mulkey won the ship in year 2 and so did Johnson.
For some reason McMeh is given a pass to be picked near dead last in the SEC for the second year. The enthusiasm for the basketball team reminds me of the latter part of the Johnson years with no good recruits coming in. Very dark times ahead.. btw Kansas is preseason #1… so much for “Muh Sanctions”

It was a complete rebuild. He’ll need 3-4 years of recruiting before any expectations can beset

Screw that, Kelly had 39 scholarship players when he took over and won the west in year one.

Basketball doesn’t require fielding 22 players in each game. No excuses

Missouri had the same rebuild as lsu last season. They made the tournament with players from smaller schools.

Shhhh.. they don’t want you to say that too loud.
“It takes 4-5 years” for a basketball rebuild. Lol

The General didn’t need 3-4 years. Won the sec in year 2!

Greater than 500 in SEC would be a dream come true for me!

LOL.LSU got lucky and won the west last year and to compare McMahon to JJ and Mulkey shows how ridiculous the people who post on here are. Mulkey was HOF coach that we hired and LSU baseball is one of the premier programs in the country. The stupidity amazes me.

No offense, but you clearly know nothing about the landscape of college basketball today. In NO OTHER college sport can a program be “rebuilt”/turned around quicker than college basketball. If the mindset is he needs “at least 3-4 year to form reasonable judgements/expectations” then those people equally as clueless.

To answer the OP’s question, I would say if Cook is eligible there is reason to believe this team could compete in the middle (MAYBE a bit higher) of what looks to be a weaker SEC compared to last season. Without Cook it will be tougher.

IMO a reasonable o/u total for non-conference wins is 9. A reasonable o/u total for SEC wins is 7. Hit those numbers and LSU is 16-15. Not “good” by any means. But not horrible either. Anything more and LSU has had a good season with each additional win making the season incrementally better. Less, and the questions of if McMahon can win here will grow louder

How does one “get lucky and win the west??” Lol that might be the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen posted on here.

I have been saying that anything less than .500 in the SEC should warm his seat considerably and I'm sure the Waders consider me a McMan.

Ultimately, it is whatever the AD decides is acceptable and we can only influence it by our spending I guess.

BS with the transfer portal there is no way he shouldn’t be fielding a competitive team by year 2. Rebuilds are no longer 4 year windows. They get it done in 2 or move on

So far I’ve donated $85,000 this year- I’d say I’ve done my part.

You claim to have donated this much while also renting a house and being behind on rent

Smells fishy

We’re comparing him to the previous coach. He wasn’t pearfect but he had us in the NCAA tournament and competing for a sec championship every year after his 1st szn.
