Les Miles

This is probably the right answer. At least in my opinion.

I don't believe I've ever seen anyone on here proclaim Miles as the best coach in college football, but I know for a fact I've seen lots of people claim he was the worst ever.

Even 18 months after being fired, there are still some that take shots at the guy. shite, the man won a lot of games for LSU. His record could have been better, but it also could have been worse.

And now there are posters that cry because somebody voices a concern about the new staff, and they start screaming "shut the frick up and stop bad-mouthing the coaching staff." And then that same group of people turn right around and kick Miles and his accomplishments in the arse.

Absolutely amazing.

Looking back at Les's tenure at LSU, it really was a mixed bag. Yes, he ran a clean program, recruited great, and was an outstanding ambassador for LSU.

On the other side of that, it was time for him to go. He couldn't evolve when he needed to, and I think most people on the rant tend to agree with that. After the NCG things started to go downhill, and people really began to turn on him, especially when he leveraged Arkansas to get an extension from Captain Dipshit (Alleva), which was smart on Les's part.

Les Miles the figure was better than Les Miles the coach, but replacing that man, with an a-hole like O shows incompetence of epic proportions. I honestly wish we could shite-can Alleva, and replace him with Les.

I wasn't thrilled with the Miles hire, but he won me over early on with the way he handled and guided the team through the 2005 season. but he did indeed have his flaws. But hey, most all coaches do.

Yes he did do all of these things as well as win a lot of games.

Yes it was time for Les to move on and not evolving is strictly of his doing. But I don't think people should still be bashing the guy, 18 months after being dismissed; but that's just how I feel.

I agree with this 100%. I can't for the life of me understand how anybody could be happy with replacing Miles with o.

I'm with ya on this as well. Alleva needs to go for the shite he pulled during the coaching search in 2016. And I wouldn't mind Miles being his replacement. But I don't think there are are many who would agree with us.

maybe I'm a victim of the moment, but the pro-O crowd leading up to the hire (and I'm talking about the people who wanted O over Herman or Fisher) really made me rethink the great people of Louisiana. Just....

JJ vs Lee was polarizing, but the debate was not shocking or dumb. There wasn't a world of difference between them, and "who starts at QB" is a fairly reasonable thing to second guess.

I think it's silly when we get panties in a wad over who wears which jersey number. I do not think attaching significance to jersey numbers is dumb, however getting upset over that when there are far more intriguing, productive and entertaining arguments to have about other subjects is a poor investment in time, thought and emotion.

Jamarcus coming out as a Bama Boy after leaving LSU rubbed a lot of our fans the wrong way. Much more than him being an NFL bust.

There was a very large segment of the fanbase that hated Russell while he was playing and wanted him benched in favor of Flynn. It didn't suddenly start after he left Lsu.
