What would tailgating be like today if LSU was hosting a Friday night playoff game?

Would it be normal Saturday SEC game all day tailgating? Class is out, so I’m assuming there would be no campus restrictions.

I would imagine it would be some what smaller. Would also be smaller because students are gone and I dont think there is ton of student tickets made available. Still wild but different.

best guess is it would be somewhat like the 2005 Tennessee game they played on that Monday.

I'd be out there all day cooking, eating and drinking. Thanks again BK for preventing that from happening. Our season has been over for 2.5 months already.

Hottest night game in history. I hated Les Miles from that day forward.

But why would you compare a CFP game to that shite show game?

I think LSU tailgating in general is a shell of it's former self. Back when you had free reign of the campus to pretty much tailgate anywhere you please, first come first serve, after 5pm on the day before. Back when Mike actually roamed the sideline. That was the golden days. Now it's just a big corporate money grab. No free parking within 2 miles of stadium. Some things have changed for the better, but that is not one of them.

Today the weather is beautiful, and I'm sad we don't even have the chance to tailgate. I'm sad my kids will never really experience that era. I sure hope CLK can change things around, and I hope the new administration can listen to our fans and quit with the piped in music and shitty generic loss of our culture

The tailgate atmosphere would be more impacted by the proximity to Christmas than the day of the week

This

LSU's reputation is living off its past, not present, experience. Tailgating sucks compared to the Saban and early Miles era. Has become far too commercial and less organic. LSU saw a way to capitalize on additional revenue streams by charging for parking and prime locations. In the process it greatly diminished the excitement of tailgating at LSU.

That had to suck realizing you already hated Les in just his second game as LSU head coach and then having to endure 11 more years of him

They’ve also done their best to limit student involvement. When I was student the tailgate was the best party of the year and even the old folks got involved by feeding us, etc.

The loss of tailgating along Nicholson was huge.

I miss the LSU hearse and coffin.
