everyone else in the south has same challenges, they don't bail on their football team like LSU fans do, it is bizarre because Tiger fans are passionate and have built this #1 game day experience ranking..
Until half time, Tiger fans are and TS are legit, unless we are playing Bama until wire, people bail early
If I went the trouble and expense to see the game, I wouldn't leave early to avoid traffic

About 20 degrees cooler would help tremendously.
If it was 64 degrees there would be people leaving because it's too cold. "We're not used to this in South Louisiana!"
Y'all are just making excuse after excuse for a fan base that sucks. Apparently it's a conference wide, and maybe a nation wide problem, but it's more egregious at LSU.

And ironically, those same people are caught in traffic, just 30 minutes earlier.

Again, the experience isnt about football. It's a social thing.

I live 1.5 hours from BR and have two kids under 3, when I come to a game, im turning out the lights when I leave the stadium.

The main reasons are the all day tailgating and bad traffic.

Was having this discussion with my sister during the game. The problems can be attributed to a lot of things and LSU needs to seriously focus on fan experience going forward. The concession situation in the NEZ is deplorable. The one time I attempted to go get something to eat, lines were 100+ feet deep and not moving. The bathroom situation is just as bad. There is a lot of dead space in the stadium that is either untapped or not being utilized correctly. Cell service is horrendous and that is, unfortunately, paramount for some. Quality opponents and the manner in which Les tends to sit too comfortably on a 14 point lead will also drive people to leave. The stadium needs to sell alcohol or build club rooms available to every fan.

As I said, LSU fans are the problems. Every "issue" here, with the exception of poor cell phone reception, existed back in the 70's-80's-90's & even with poor teams & coaches..Hallman & DiNardo will go down as 1A & 1B as worst HC in LSU history...the stadium stayed packed for the most part practically every game. Tiger Stadium is the New Grove of SEC tail gating, i.e. one big cock tail party that lasts about one half.

I think the above is all a cop out. Fans leaving is just a sign of the times. The big question is why? Just my two cents:
1. Today everyone has a cellphone and we can communicate with one another anytime we want. That wasn't the case even 15 years ago. It use to be that you went to the game and other than the people around you, you didn't really know what your friends were doing and had no real means of finding out during the game. Now, I suspect text of "come meet us at _____", or "what are yall doing now" are pretty common. When you didn't know what anyone else was doing, you didn't leave. You just stayed and met up after the game as was previously planned.
2. The fact that every game is on TV is still a relatively new occurrence. It use to be that you stayed at the game because, otherwise, you weren't going to be able to watch it.
3. For many, tailgating has become the big event, not the game. Thus, you have literally thousands of people on campus with no intention of going to the game. That just decreases the amount of available parking and increases the traffic. Traffic has always been an issue. But now when you add 10k - 20k of people in addition to the 80k-90k at the game, it gets even worse.
4. LSU is a victim of their own success. In the 80's, 90's, and early '00's, wins over other SEC teams weren't "expected" as they are now. Therefore, there was some excitement for each game. Now, you hear "the home schedule sucks. It's just State, or Mizzou, or Kentucky, or etc." People don't look forward to those games because they fell LSU is "supposed" to beat those teams. For better or worse, those games have become obligations for many fans rather than something to look forward to.
5. In addition to every LSU game being on TV, the same can be said for just about every other power conf program. 20 years ago you had maybe 3-4 games competing with the LSU game. Now, you probably have 10+. People can just go their house/tailgate and watch several games
Crowded bathrooms and concessions have long been a problem (not just at LSU), and people who are truly interested in the game don't really care about bad cell phone service. There's nowhere else they want to be.

game is long, and call me awkard, but i dont like being with thousands of people. esp if you have BO. make the game shorter, cooler, cheaper food, drinks, and not 4 hours. also , standing every play gets old

I typically stay until the end unless I have some kids with me or something like that. however, there are two things that make me want to leave early. there is not enough room for everyone to sit comfortably so generally, every other person has to lean forward while the others lean back.
couple this with games lasting 4 hours due to multiple 10-minute stretches of commercial time, and of course people get impatient and leave.
