He had one, but he meddled, couldn’t get along with him, and ran him off within a year.

He brought in a good coordinator last year and it turned into a disaster. He allegedly brought in another good coordinator this year.

As I said in the previous reply, revisit after next season.

No, at this point he hasn’t done anything to warrant being fired, just as he hasn’t done anything to warrant being extended.

Yeah people act like these recruits are analyzing coach contracts. Produce on the field and recruiting takes care of itself. Produce mediocre results and you will be exposed.

Honestly? Done with LSU sports until a real change is made.

We fired a guy for this same bullshite. Actually, we fired a guy for doing better than this. Les never lost to Troy or A&M and at least had us scoring on Bama.

He is difficult to get along with but this should have been known to O before he hired him. Either he was ordered to hire Canada against his will or he didn’t vet him properly. Either scenario is disturbing.

What little I still cared will likely take a powder until they get someone good. I don't watch this shite to see LSU get humiliated again and again because they insist on having a stupid head coach.

The usuals will overreact and melt down. Doesn’t change much in the grand scheme of things. It has to be done regardless of whether or not O is being kept long term.

You have no clue what your talking about.

If by good job you mean consecutive years of finishing with the same record as the coach we previously fired then yes, he is doing a good job.

Lol just more money LSU has to waste in a few years when he’s fired. Their funeral not mine.

Meanwhile other programs get better and pass us by.

Back to the Hallman years we go.

Then we never should have hired him if he was that problematic

Then why was he hired? Is the hiring process at LSU that inept? What am I saying..... of course it is.

I want him to succeed as much as anybody here, but his offense is outdated. I like Ed. He goes to my church. But the fact is LSU had a chance with an innovative offensive mind, but ran the guy off. And when he was here it took the athletic director's intervention to get the guy to run his offense the way it was meant to be run.

Apparently, he won't hire Freeze, because he doesn't like him either. How many other people can he not get along with? Sometimes you have to swallow your pride, and work with people you don't like personally, but are able to help you.

It's pathetic that they can't execute pass plays that 99% of the rest of college football can run in their sleep. And it's been that way for years, and it has been unacceptable.

How many years he has left, 3? I think they could wait one year to give him the raise, however we don't need coaches telling recruits "Coach O does not have 4 years remaining therefore why you want to go to LSU"? So, give him a 1 year extension and agree to give the 3 year extension after next year's season which should it be a good one for us, and O would be deserving.

I have to say, the team did much better than we all thought. I did have us going 10-2 and should have gotten that 10th regular season win, but we all know the talking points, refs calls, etc... But he did bust Ga. a new a-hole and had the team ready for the most part. We did shite the bed against Bama and that needs to change and be more competitive!!

If I was the AD, I would give him 1 year extension, same money and not add more burden on his buyout. I would also sit O down and tell him to fix the offense because we look the same offense as the guy we fired who was the best coach ever at this school. Do it now or both our asses are done. Make the change and bring in Briles or equivalent and if you make the following record next year you get the following:

12-0 7 year extension double salary from 3.5 to $7M year. If wins the SEC then National title you get a salary that is equal to the average top 2 college coaches salaries. Saban at 8.3M and Urban at 7.6M = $7.95M, which would double his salary plus add 950,000. And for winning the National Title if undefeated, with 1 loss, or even 2 losses, he would get 7 years added to present deal and almost 8M per year.

11-1 5 year extension and go from 3.5 to $5.5M year
10-2 3 year extension and go from 3.5 to $4.5M year
9-3 1 year extension and salary does not change
8-4 No extension and salary stays the same, potential to be let go. Season review depending on how the games were played
7-5 Fired!!
