Maybe people will learn we've got an adult at the helm now and he's not here to spew bullshite each week while fleecing the university.

When he says something, it's best practice to trust what he's saying until further notice.

No, because an entire week of everyone's film studies showed he was wrong.

Daniels let it fly this week, that's what he hadn't been doing all along.

We should be happy with this.

I don't understand how some of you people can make an observation into your entire identity.

Did you not watch Kelly during the game two weeks ago? He was losing his fricking mind on Daniels because he wasn't letting it fly. I thought he was going to choke slam him at one point.

He was obviously under the impression that the issues were fixed during the week, but when bullets were flying it proved to be more of the same as the previous week.

It appears that Kelly was correct, it just took a little longer for it to play itself out in the game.

Ok.

They weren't fixed until this week. So when Kelly was mad that Daniels was screwing up so bad the last few weeks... Was Kelly a negatiger then?

Are the negatigers in the room with us now? Show me on the mascot where they touched you.

Lets be real: Daniels took a MASSIVE leap forward in his game saturday.

I can't remember a QB looking so different from one week to the next. It was night and day difference in his approach to throwing the ball. He was fearless.

I find it's best practice to not drink first thing on a Monday morning.

Seriously though, what are you talking about? His job is to critique his players and get them to perform to the best of their ability. He's got all the right in the world to be upset if a player isn't performing as expected.

I'm glad that Kelly is critical of his players when they suck. I never said otherwise. Read the other posts.

The issue around here is this adoption of an identity based on observation of the team's, or a player's performance.

Observation 1: "Daniels doesn't throw the ball when he should"

Rant reaction: "YOU HATE DANIELS NEGATIGER IDIOT YOU DONT MAKE 10M/YEAR SHUT UP"

Observation 2: Daniels finally let it fly this week

Rant: "SEE I TOLD YOU HES A SNEAKY HEISMAN ITS WHAT WE ALL SAID ALL ALONG YOURE A HATER"

Most fans are too emotional which causes them to be stupid. Don't be like most fans.

Right.

Just the inflection in your voice when you say Jayden Daniels is almost like a hot button political statement.

Any one could see JD made some baby steps last week but the negativity was so bad most wouldn't allow themselves to see it. Go back and watch the first half of the Tenn game. He was starting to trust the process. Not to the extent he did saturday night but he was starting to throw into tighter windows and when it looked like his receivers were covered. If it wasn't for the 14-0 hole who knows how much more he would have trusted. Yes he still missed some opportunities in the Tenn game. My point is I said he had taken a step forward and I expected even more against FL. maybe not to that level but obviously they saw something at practice that kept them wanting to give JD some rope. The process paid off. This isn't a sprint it's a marathon. A 2 yr marathon. That's when you can judge. As I've said before criticizing is acceptable at this point but a lot of LSU fans were irrational in their takes.

Maybe because Daniels has been playing like he did Saturday in practice the whole time but was getting the tips and insecurities on the field in games. Maybe that’s why Kelly was all over his arse for missed opportunities in ALL OF THOSE PREVIOUS GAMES.

Maybe just maybe, Kelly knew that Daniels had this potential all along because he’d watched him do it in practice.

Bottom line, these coaches know way more than the dipshit PlayStation coaches on this board could ever dream of knowing. Not a single person here knows a damn thing about running a major football program and not a single person here could call any of our games and win.

That's great and I'm happy for the uptrend, but that is dismissive of objective criticism. Punt/kick return issues are heavily on the coaching staff. Taking a half season to get competent in fielding kicks and punts isn't "seeing it differently", it is a fact of taking more time than expected.

Just say that. Own it. It's his first year. A certain amount of that is understandable, "It's taking us longer with certain aspects of offense, special teams and even defense than we anticipated." That's a grownup way to do it as opposed to gaslighting.

No one can rewatch FSU or Tennessee and think everything is all right. One game we clearly should have won and we didn't look like we belonged on the same field with the opponent in the other game. That is mostly coaching that results in both of those things.

I bet anybody $100 at the end of the season Kelly will tell you this was his toughest coaching job of his career (LSU Yr 1)

What a facile take. I do not disagree because until Saturday, QB had been a total fail. It remains to be explained how what happened did happen and most especially WHY it did not happen much sooner.
