The people here are kinda stiff, food is poor, nothing interesting happening… Louisiana culture is superior imo.
The weather is indeed better in NC though.

I’ll answer for him. Gulf coast plants pay way more than every other area of the country. If you factor that in with cost of living, it’s hard to make it make sense to actually leave.
As bad as Louisiana sucks, as a plant baw, I’m very well compensated here.

I left 6 years ago and never looked back. Family, crawfish and drive thru daiquiri shacks don’t make up for the litany of issues you can’t see until you be been away from it for a while.

We've been away most our working life. The plan was to return for retirement. Covid accelerated that a little. We're here but strongly miss where we were.
If you are young I'd highly recommend leaving for a higher wage state. Build your fortune. You can always come back to visit or retire. You will be more financially comfortable.

I wasn’t really looking to move but had the opp to transfer to Houston.
More money, more opportunity, better public schools.
The people are definitely NOT the same. Nice but not the type to invite you over for Crawfish after just meeting you.
My son is @ LSU so we love visiting… I just don’t think I would move back though,
