The entirety of 1988 to 1995. There was so much bad going around that it's not fair to pin it on one team.

If you HAD to pick one, though, 1992 is your answer.

Curley Hallman earned every single bit of the hate he deserves from LSU fans.

was a student from 91-93 (transferred in to finish my degree)...i lived across from the tennis courts on West Chimes and would sell my parking spot for $10.00 on game day. then hustle around all the tailgates, get fed and drunk, and go to the games. i remember fight after fight after fight in the stands amongst a bunch of hot, sweaty, fans who were highly pissed off at the product on the field.

frick Curley and Golden Flake for sponsoring Curley.

good times...lol.

You think it’s tough to make a bowl game?

Imagine being in the ACC. You get 4 non-conference games. Maybe you schedule 1 tough opponent. Another one could be FCS. That’s a great opportunity for 3 wins. If you’re in the Coastal Division, you are looking at games against Duke, North Carolina, Miami, Pitt, GT, Virginia, and VT. If you can’t eke out 3-4 wins there and/or a bowl win, you aren’t a good team.

It's 1992, hands down. They lost at home to Colorado State, for crying out loud. I was also a student then, and I was at every home game. That Colorado State game was the absolute worst.

The 80's were better than the 90's for LSU football.

Still dislike Bret Farve because we landed Hallman because of him.

Not trying to hijack the thread because enjoying it but does make me think how blessed we are right now (last 20 years, really) and wonder what Tennessee fans have been thinking the last ~10 years or Florida State the last ~3.

Well this is quite a false statement.

FSU won a title this decade, and I think it’s a matter of getting a coach in there who knows what he’s doing. They aren’t used to coaching changes and searches. There’s talent everywhere, and Miami and Florida are leaving the door open.

Yeah I think 1999 would’ve beat 1992 handily. 1999 kept it competitive against some good teams.

I had a relative that worked at Colorado State in athletic department and lived in CO at that point as I kid, 4th or 5th grade maybe. Went to BR to visit fam with dad and this relative, my uncle, and it was first LSU game I remembered well in person in 92. Had been years earlier but was quite young.

CSU was good in the much of 90s, but not then. They, as in staff and fans had zero belief they would win and only hoped to compete. Zero expectation of winning.

It stood out to me at the time bc I was so surprised at the tone people associated with the team (CSU) took at a dinner I was fortunate to attend the night before. More just eye opening as a kid and hearing adults talk candidly to each other.

It was an enormous win for them and sad day for Tigers and I think CSU was more surprised than LSU
