Can you tell me what “his offense” is?

An offensive playbook that he created and implemented over an entire offseason and terminology that both he and his players are comfortable with

So we’ll have plays and terminology.

Any more profound insight?

Do you mean the article titled “Where Would I Take LSU’s Offense” which, coincidentally, wasn’t written by Ensminger?

I get the point you’re trying to make. The plays were there, we lacked execution. And that is correct. Several plays we had the right personnel and play called, but we didn’t execute. In fairness this was against the best defense in the country with an extremely weak QB.

Why didn't Freeze's offense "lack execution" vs Bama? And with a QB that we rejected in favor of Jennings and Harris?

We will dominate inferior teams and have our weaknesses exposed by the Bama’s of the world. Just like always.

Because he had all year or more (depending on classification, been part of system/program multiple years) to have his players practice his play book. SE tried to implement/adjust plays on the fly/mid-season, big difference in the 2 situations. I can go on and spell it out further but somehow I know you won't get it and will down vote.

2016 scheme with the 2017 Oline is a different game. Put it all together in 2018. Dline stout keeping the game close since we shouldn't have to blitz as many people to slow the run and pressure the QB. Cautiously optimistic here.

Buuuuut he deserves credit for these petty rushing records versus the bottom feeders of the conference? That was what Orgeron said during the Press Conference. It can only be one way or the other. Was it his offense that broke Cameron's record from the year before or was it Cameron's offense again?

We will beat the teams we are supposed to beat, will lose the games we are supposed to lose. He has a shot at some wins because of Aranda’s D.
He is not inept he is just no better than 70 to 100 on the OC list. Nice guy.

Etling mentioned the WRs ran the wrong routes. Blocking was off. Was it too much too soon? Was it the players? You tell me.

That's what happens when all you have is recruiters trying to teach a new offense.

I expect 12 “talks like us” comments,10 “whatever Zer-O tells him to do”, and 5 “what’s in the binder?”. Wildcard are the dumb comments about gumbo or roux.

Also, he seems pretty flexible and willing to create an up-tempo modern offense with RPOs and the like.

It dosen't matter if we do not improve our route running and improve in the most crucial spot on the field and that is to develop a middle range game and that’s something Danny struggled with at times with his accuracy and touch on throws. per Mike Detillier.

Without agreeing or disagreeing, scheme and execution do affect each other.

Proper/better scheming can make execution 'easier' or 'better' by giving the players small, or even large, advantages. It's difficult to execute at a high level when equally matched in strength/talent with no advantages. Part of that is predictability but there are other things such as blocking angles, causing hesitation/directing eyes, etc. Those small things are not to be scoffed at.

To me it is just as annoying, sometimes infuriating, to see a coach like Les talk about executing better when the scheme is causing disadvantages much less advantages as it is to see an offense such as Chip Kelly's try to scheme around poor execution.

At the end of the day, you have to have both. Depending on your talent level or strengths, the balance between the two can lean one way or the other. But too much unbalance and you will find you losing to better talent (Oregon losing to us) or being out-coached (Les/Orgeron to Saban).
