It’s good. We need upperclassmen leadership.

Some guys didn’t play to expectations and of course the injuries

We’ll get back on track

Its not good or bad... Its GREAT!!

We don't know the asking prices, and if they were too high it can cause players to drop a ton because they are viewed as undraftable. Doesn't necessarily mean they suck.

However, that will not stop rantards. They have a built in narrative either way. Its either:

"CPM signs players who were never going to make it to campus."

Or

"CPM can't even sign players good enough to get drafted."

It will be interesting to see which current players leave if most of the signees come to school.

We are all excited our players and recruits aren't good enough to be drafted high!!!

Or, in other words, we want the best players possible who don't become professionals.

Can a coach call recruits while the draft is going on? Or is it a dead period?

That’s an incredibly oversimplified way of looking at it but okay

Certainly

Each guy has a different story, look at Bregman.

That's why baseball recruiting is so crazy. You don't want to recruit players that are so good that they would be drafted very highly and never make it to campus. This is what got Smoke and Turtle Thomas in so much trouble. Both coming from smaller schools, they were like kids in a candy store with all of the best prospects in the country want to talk to them. Problem is they signed several of these players and had top ranked recruiting classes, but none of the best players never made it to campus.

Maineri takes a chance on a few players that will get drafted high, then you always have the late bloomers that skyrocket up the draft ratings by maturing and having big senior years. For the most part, he is very good at getting the players that fall just below that upper tier where the odds are very strong that they will show up on campus.

Not sure

I would bet they are in contact with our coaches either way.

There's no dead period regarding players that have already signed their papers.

If we get 4/4 out of Hill, Marceaux, Henry and Kelly...a good cleansing is about to commence of the current roster from a pitcher standpoint.

Teams can always save money on the earlier slot values to overpay the later values....I think our recruits just had high numbers and slid because of that....They may cave in later for a lesser value, but we can always hold out hope that they get pissed off at being lowballed
