I will be away from the computer for probably the rest of the draft today. I really hope I come back to some good news.

It will be your fault if you leave us. Lets see you are leaving us at 48/35 when you come back after 10 rounds we will be at 44/35 maybe????

Yeah I just think it behooves coaches to embrace the process and have a good working relationship with area scouts and scouting departments in general, instead of incessantly bitching about it or getting a bad reputation. Ultimately the type of players you need in the program will be dealing with both a college staff and a pro organization, so it’s pointless to try to put them in the middle of a pissing contest.

Seems like we're making out pretty good here. That's some well needed good news.

So dumb Hope he's ready for like a $75k offer if that

It was a weird deal. He was coming off an injury that forced him out of most of 2017. He only pitched like 27 innings total, most of it coming out of the pen in the CWS. He was willing to take much less than slot, but they still couldn't come to an agreement. He has TJ surgery in September, keeping him out the entire year. Now he's drafted in the 6th round.

He may sign, he may not - he's still got a year left of eligibility at OSU, and that's without a RS year IIRC. He was originally drafted last year as a sophomore.

At this point is it safe to assumed that players like Hill have been contacted and their number is a good bit higher than current slot value?

Nothing is over yet. Players can still be taken in the 30th round and be thrown a ton of money depending now how a team can sign their top 10 picks.

Maybe, but there is still a threat to have money thrown at them after the 10th round. As mentioned earlier, you never know how much a team can save and throw at someone else.

Looking like Cam Sanders may be the only one LSU should be worried about.

Correct, we can’t assume they’ll be in Baton Rouge next season because teams can get creative. But it is safe to assume the following players have all received calls and the fact that they haven’t been taken means they are at least sticking to their number (whatever that may be).

Hess
Watson
Hill
Cabell
Marceaux
Henry
Kelly
Willis

And probably a few others.

This has probably been answered 100 times, so I apologize if so. Bush is draft eligible?

How was Daniel Cabrera offered 2 million dollars last year as a 26th round pick? And if he was offered so much last year as a 26th round pick, is there a chance that similar offers could be made to our players/recruits in the far-later rounds?
